heading to Melbourne for xmas break of 3 weeks and staying in williamstown as our base….have googled with not much luck

Kooringal…that used to be called williamstown golf club…anyone played it??
Kooringal is private. There is Westgate GC. A little 9 holer. Underneath the Westgate Bridge just off Williamstown Rd. Altona Lakes is another 9 holer on Mason St, Altona North/Newport. There’s also Sanctuary Lakes down at Point Cook whick is private but you might get on for around 60 bucks.

thanks….. going to melbourne for 3 weeks, unless I play twice a week i go insane..the wife likes to shop – I like to golf…not sure who spends more cash just quietly :)
LOL..she will buy a dress where it once..I will buy a putter and use it 3 times…so its probably a draw in that stakes
3 putts ? Is that on the 1st green and then you throw it in the lake ?? But seriously folks – play a game at Kooringal (its not a bad track and when I played it a year ago they had Craig Parry {I think} re-dong a few holes) and also Sanctuary Lakes. Otherwise get in the car and go out to the new Eynesbury course.

Or head down the bellarine peninsula to 13th beach. bit of a driver but a great course.
down and out…did ya get that? |

thanks guys…my wife got a gps for her birthday so no problems really just point and drive…we are doing the coast road or whatever they call it I hear theres a few courses….Im not a fussy golfer when youre on holidays you just enjoy the experience, how and where you play doesnt really matter what about albert park GC can you get on during the week??

If you are doing the Great Ocean Road and are looking for a hit down Geelong way then definately go for 13th beach on the way…Torquay and Curlewis are also nice and a bit cheaper from memory. A lot of courses are starting to battle a bit for water though, 13th and The Sands have a good supply, others not so much. Or if you are really keen, come to East Geelong and I will show you around! Albert Park is not real great, all a bit cramped, actually sort of dangerous in parts.

If you are doing the GOR, Port Fairy is one you should lock in. Stay in a nice B&B, tell the bride to relax and have a bottle of wine, and you go and play Port Fairy…

I second Mr Wayne Bennett – I’m a huge fan of Pt Fairy.

Was down at Port Fairy 4 years ago & promised myself iIwould go back there sometime. Great golf course when the wind is blowing. Bit of a long drive from North Queensland though
A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all.
