I have a question for members of JCC. I have seen on the membership page that memberships only run until 2027. What happens after this date? Do all memberships become void and new noms have to be paid? Andy

Think you had best ask them. I do however recall there was something funny. Remember Joondalup is not your traditional club model in that the course, land and buildings were not paid for and do nonot belong to the members – it belongs to a corporate entity who have some sort of arrangement with the club side. Not sure of the terms, but i suspect yes, they may be left on the shelf after that date. It has always been a slightly uncomfortable relationship I hear. I recall, a mate many years ago showing up one Friday with his junior pennant team for a practice round in advance of the weekend’s match. It is expected that the host club will provide access to the course for free for the visiting team on the Friday prior. Joondalup would not let him and boys on unles they paid $100 a head. The issue was resolved with much shouting and frantic phone calls to the WAGA who pretty much told the management to let the lads on or sod off from the pennants competition, but it does illlustrate that trying to juggle a commerical resort course with a pseudo private club model is always tricky at the best of times.

My Dad was a member there in the early days. They were given “lifetime” memberships when buying land within the estate. I recall the course being sold to overseas investors and these “lifetime” members had them revoked. Some took a class action if I recall and I’m wondering if the date 2027 was the one reached in settlement to have these memberships nulled. I have made 3 calls to JCC northerner, I’m still waiting on the return call. Seems when a couple of your categories are full all common courtesy is left at the door. Oh well plenty of other courses around
