Just out of curiosity, has anyone here been lucky enough to play Royal County Down? I’ve been reading up on it and it looks absolutely amazing!!! Sadly, the closest I’ve been to playing Royal County Down has been on the PS3… . One day…

I’ll put my hand up and say I have been lucky enough to play there. On a trip around Ireland a few years ago, met Styles from here for a hit and he was great in booking us a spot for a round at Royal County Down when I was in town. My profile pic is actually from my round there.

Joked the night before my round with my now fiance that I wouldn’t mind if we got a little rain and wind just to get the whole Irish links feel experience. Well, absolutely copped it, was cold and wet but absolutely loved it and can’t wait to get back over there and do it all again.

Played it on PS3 last night as well, looks great on the TV but unbelievable in person.

If you’re ever in the area over there do yourself a favour and have a hit there. Highly recommend!

Yeah, looks lovely on the PS3 (Tiger Woods 2013 Masters, is the one I’ve got, I think). But looks even better on the Royal County Down website. Must’ve been hardcore playing there – the 9th and 4th in particular. Will have to get over there sometime…

Yeah, those two holes would have to be close to my two favourite on the course. The rain managed to hold off just enough to take some nice photos off the 4th tee.

I’ve had a round there Fuzzy, wonderful course. I was pretty nervous teeing off the 1st, I desperately wanted to play well, almost hit it in the ocean.

Do whatever you can to get there.

Yeah, I see you get around to a lot of the better courses in the west – nice one. But poor you, only 20 comp rounds in the last two years…wait until you get married mate.
