Wellington and Oberon

I love Trafalgar. Put it in Melbourne and it’d be packed every weekend. Agree Trentham is a ripper although it gets a lot of press. Not sure I’d call it a ‘hidden gem’ anymore

Haven’t lived down that way in a number of years but in the Gippsland region I always enjoyed Sale and Maffra. In fact, Maffra had some of the best greens I’ve ever seen on a small, country course (even had an honesty box system). As for QLD and my local area these days, I’ve always enjoyed Woodforde just to the west of Caboolture. Very good track.

In years gone past I would agree with you DivotMaker and Acca, but the course is not as robust now with the wet weather and they are going through a “re-build” process over the next couple of years. It has suffered a great deal and is not the course (condition) it once was. Still a very scenic course and the greens are great.
9/10/12 – Hole In One – 7th Hole Portsea GC |

Not so hidden now but not completely mainstream is Curlewis. For the price it’s a great course and great value.

I last played there in Feb and I was really disappointed with the condition of the fairways, but I was hoping it might’ve just been a blip… guess not. Sad news that its an ongoing issue because it is a terrific track when its in good nick

Marysville.

I’m heading there in 3 weeks Shreky….unlimited golf with cart on a voucher. 36 holes would be a good bet.
Shot more than 36 points in an OOM day….seriously. |

I disagree….based mainly on the greens at Gisborne the last few times I’ve been there. And I reckon Trentham is just a nicer looking track.

Yup in that area you have Trentham, Goonawarra , Gisborne . Melton and Bacchus Marsh. All good tracks but Trentham by far the best of the lot and maybe the best all weather course in Victoria but thats just my opinion each to there own. another great course a wee bit down the hume is Kilmore and then broadford also great tracks . keep em coming love all the different ideas…

I thought Sale was pretty good. Lakes Entrance is mint although hardly “hidden”. Bendigo is a great layout. Marysville in good condition is brilliant.

Queenscliff is a great track! Does it make the list? Not a huge rap for gisborne. It has quite a few good holes but has some really ugly ones

Murwillumbah is very good for those prepared to drive an extra 20mins past most of the crap resort courses on the Gold Coast.

I love Gisborne. Outside of the wet months. Just played it on Tuesday. But still comes in behind trentham. Greens are no competition, condition of the fairways are better.
Ghetto train – get on it. Winner C grade OOM #3 Patterson River. |

Some I like:
Trentham Golf Club |

South Coast of NSW – some of the lesser known courses but still very good :-
Runner up (with Mark Gibson), 3 legged race, North Ainslie Primary School athletics carnival, 1966. |

nice list!
Play it as it lies, get on with it, its not life or death, its just a game! |

Have fun Goldman, cart is a good option for the back 9.
