Hi,

You can still play rounds at both courses to make a decision of which you prefer..Sunshine, pitch up, pay and play, or contact one of the members.

Kooringal give the pro shop a shout or the members and we could take you for a few rounds.
If the 7 day mem is full, Note 6 Day Member (Mon – Fri + Sun), so you could opt for that and transfer to a 7 day.

Choose the course that you prefer and then sort out the membership stuff….or you could lease a membership for a year from Sanctuary lakes.

Thanks KineshM – I heard that Sanctuary Lakes isn’t that great… Just going of a family friend down there. He recommended Kooringal. 6 day then transfer could be the plan.

No worries…play the courses and choose the one that appeals
to you…

Sanctuary lakes is a great course. Rate it better than Kooringal or Sunshine. Have a hit there before making your own mind.

More, stonewashed denim is priceless in the west. I wear mine with a packet of Winnie blues tucked up in the sleeve. That’s boss.

Played Kooringal during the week and must say as a complete package i rate it a better members course than Sunshine or Sanctuary Lakes. Ive played Sanctuary hundreds of times, Sunshine half a dozen and was a member at Kooringal for 5 years many moons ago.
Fairways were in good nick.
Greens good to very good.
Clubhouse very friendly and quite a few around having a few beers.

I find the course at sunshine a bit baron and theres not enough top soil or something? The vista is terrible. Factories and freeways.

Sanctuary is a great course the condition and challenge is the best of the 3 but lacks the social side that both Kooringal and Sunshine have. Always seems to be problems with management from course to clubhouse.

I will be heading back to Kooringal.

PING NUT

I played Kooringal for the first time today and I was impressed with everything I saw.

I really enjoyed the course which is probably the most important bit, but the people on course and in the proshop were friendly and welcoming. I don’t know why, but I guess I wasn’t expecting that kind of welcome.

Also won enough in the TAB afterwards to cover my days expenses which was nice, albeit a total fluke.

I love the tab and pokies too, keeps my subs well down :)

Just my 2c, but the 8th and 14th holes are really, really quality holes!

I could play those two all day long!

I love 2, short but requires two precisely positioned shots to par it.

Of the new or reworked holes I think they did the best job on 8. 1, 2 and 14 were also reasonably well done.

The new greens on 10, 12 and especially 15 are a bit disappointing and they have added to the level of inconsistency between greens on the course.

Hawkers how different are the greens on those holes compared to the previous versions? I like the green on 10, 12 is very tough, 3 putt it a bit, 15 is just hard to hit to a good spot I find. The greens on 13 and 15 are now very true surfaces.

Woops 12 is original, I meant 13. 13 has taken an age to firm up, I am sure I am in a minority but I like the new hole apart from the green.

I suppose 10 & 15 have decent surfaces. I think 1 & 8 have the best surfaces of the new greens. 10 had a way to go last time I played there, 15 isn’t a good green because the effective surface area for cutting holes is way to small due to the slope. It needs to be a lot bigger or have less slope,

The predecessors to 1, 8, 10, 13 & 15 are reasonably similar to most of the other greens – 11 & 17 are probably atypical in terms of the turf consistency and hardness. The problem is the club has probably 3 or 4 different green surfaces
