Shrek – played the Lakes/Quarry last Xmas.

Really bloody enjoyable. I think the only let down was the 9th on the Quarry which was pretty nothing.

How did you play the 2nd on Quarry? No where to hide with those pots! Loved the par 5 4th, tried to get on in 2 but smashed into the face of the quarry rock. 6 is a super hole too with an imposing 2nd.

The Lakes 9 while not rated as well as the others was very enjoyable too.

By the looks of things all 9s make you think quite a bit off the tee which I enjoyed.

We played 9 and then asked about playing the Quarry. Guy rushed us through for nothing and then we told him to keep the deposit for our buggies as they were closing up before we had finished. All up I think we only paid $50 after 3pm.

There’s many a slip ’tween a cup and a lip.

Gee that looks good.
Hole 2 of the quarry would be easy for me to play.

Just aim for a bunker. I’m guaranteed to miss.

Bernie, the day we played was a 4Ball day and the white tees were well forward. On the 2nd I hit 3 iron to the left side of the fairway and 9 iron to the back of the green (thank god for my gps).

I did the same as you on the fourth – talking about an intimidating bunker shot for my 3rd!

Loved the second shot into the fifth. The pin was cut about 3 metres from the quarry on the rhs. Suffice to say I went well left of the flag!

I agree you have to position your tee shots, not just bomb a driver. Thats where the GPS was so good in giving lay-up distances.

Like you, I had a very enjoyable day, my partner and I ended up with 43 points which I thought was pretty good – the winning pair had 59 points!

The only way to find out a man’s true character is see how he reacts when a shanked ball is coming at him.
Kiwi – Ducked for cover
Goldy – Didn’t flinch

That’s all I did Vinum, aimed straight at the round crater bunker and ended up left of it – works every time, almost.

Wonderfull golf course with a lot of memorable holes.

Has one of the best Par 5s you can play, the 4th on the Quarry nine, only 475 metres, up hill dogleg with a massive bunker 5 metres lower than the fairway which follows the fairway for 150 metres.

This was preceded by a 170 mtere Par 3 gaurded by the biggest hole in the ground you will ever see… simply stunning

I think anyone with any negative comments is either very hard to please or jealous

Always in great condition, if you get to WA it should be the first course you play

Couldn’t agree more Chop Chop.

Have to agree that Joondalup would have to be one of the best golfing experiences in Australia.
Used to visit from Kuala Lumpur about twice a year in the 1990’s with a large group of golf mates who all loved it.
Sadly, since retirement and losing the “perks”,have not been back in ten years.

$29 for 9 holes walking after 2pm it is a bargain. I always seem to get the Lakes though :-(

The other 9s need carts.

Control is doing the shortest possible stroke to make the shot.

Great course just not sure i could be a member and front up to it every saturday!

I could if I didnt have to walk it. too hard to walk 18 holes

Golf forever, work never!

Heading there today for 9 on the quarry course. One of the few courses I’ve always wanted to play but thought it was to expensive to enjoy for my skill level. But they are doing a twilight price of $29 for 9 after 3pm so I’m giving it a crack. Really looking forward to it…

You may not get the quarry course with that offer. My advice play whatever you are given and once complete jump over to the quarry! No one will bat an eyelid…

Hay Bernie,
Got to play the quarry on that deal. Was a really nice course. Will definitely get up there again at that price and try the other 2 hopefully..
