They have their comps tee off between 11.30 – 1.00 which is no good to you i wouldn’t have thought. Reckon i’ll be sleeping off the Christmas dinner and copious amounts of alcohol early Boxing Day. So The Marsh might be a stretch.

Anyhow course was in awesome nic, almost faultless. Will say, get in before the new greens commence construction as the temp greens will change the course significantly for the duration (and for the worse I think). However, they are temporary works and short term pain for long term gain.

If you haven’t played there, do it. It’s worth the effort.

But I do have one gripe… What’s with no 100m markers? Have the pines for 150m, but for the non locals (who are too cheap for DMD) our group got the distances wrong a few key occasions because we were out by a club or two. Given it’s length (or lack thereof) You are quite often playing your second from well inside that 150m… Just my 10c though.

Dude you shot a 78 and as it’s been rated 71 in comp lately you’ve played to 7. Love to have your problems! Shame it wasn’t in comp. Anyway they’ll take all feedback so if i get the chance with the powers that be i’ll bring it up. I’m sure Publish keeps an eye on this thread so he may be able to float it at the next commitee meeting.

Thanks BTB4… Just a small thing that I realised I depended on a bit at other courses. Not looking for metres on all sprinkler heads (although that’d be cool!), but 14 stakes along the side of fairways shouldn’t break the bank.

I noticed the 71 thing, which is why I’m claiming a PB over the +8 I shot at the Marsh a few months back.

Went out for a practice hit last night and the works on the new greens has begun. Ready around May i think. Temporary greens look ok and seemed alright to putt on. Obviously changes the dynamic on a few holes for now but will still be fun to play.

Looks like I timed it beautifully then. I hate temporary greens, but realise it’s a means to an ends.

4th – Be interested if they play this as a 4 or a long Par 3.
7th – Surely has to be played as a Par 3
9th – Will probably go back to a Par 4?
17th – May stay as a 5, but HotFuzz drove it onto the Temp green and I was 15m short. Surely a Par 4?

Update. New greens laid and sewn and with the great autumn weather we’ve had down here combined with good rain they’re starting to look a treat. Went out and played 9 yesterday morning with a mate and we had time to check them out. Looks like there will be significantly more bunkering around them as well.
I’m no landscaper but at the rate they’re going i reckon they could be in play in a couple of months. A couple of them look like they’ll be gnarly suckers to putt on too!
In regards to the aforementioned tee boxes they are bringing them back too. So it will be an extra club on 2 to get to green and on 14 to get to the dogleg to hopefully position for a short iron into the green. Unless this is just for the blues which i’m not across yet.

Anyhow, could be an outer rim day in order down the track if anyone’s interested. Good times.

Looking like they may hold off until closer to spring to let new greens settle. They’re coming up a treat but i think they want to give them every chance to be tip top when they start playing.

Reckon the 36 holer will be a cracker this year.

Club Captain made an announcement after comp Saturday that they’d be in play end of August. Apparently they want to give them every chance to settle properly for clubbies and tournament.

Sorry GSP been AWOL for a bit. Temp greens play well for temp greens if you know what i mean. I’ve played on alot worse permanent greens put it that way.

And Kiwi i reckon that’ll be a goer for sure.
