Played Trentham last weekend and was amazed in the quality of the course. The fairways were mint and the greens keep to an excellent standard.

Membership of $385 is fasntastic and I will be signing up after Christmas.

trentham, i played it for the first time about a month ago, was also quite impressed, nice little country track

Great track, great members (I lower the tone of the joint somewhat.) Currently upgrading 2 of the greens and at a packed AGM recently the lengthening of a par 3 and par 4 was a quite hotly debated decision. Watch this space on that one.

The greens commitee want to extend the par 3 second from 157 to about 170 and the par 4 14th with the right hand dogleg by roughly the same by bringing the tee boxes back. The masses weren’t overly impressed and she got pretty heated actually. I could see both points of view so i decided not to throw any uppercuts as i’m only a new member although i think all beverages will be served in plastic cups at next years meeting.

That’s what clubs want though isn’t BTB4? Passion… members who care what the club is like and how it plays. As long as it is all well intended heated debate it should all be good.

I reckon the 2nd and 14th play hard enough as it is. Wouldn’t get my vote. Hell, I wouldn’t touch the layout. It’s perfect for what it does…

You could lengthen the par 3 170 that will just make it harder for a large portion of the membership who would hit driver or 3 wood instead of a long iron. For longer hitters it would make it an extra club? Same diff for the 14th dog leg. Wouldn’t be worth the money in my opinion.

I’d use the money to keep membership as cheap as it is or use it for a membership drive to try and get more city based members.

Yeah it was great! They really care about their club out there i can tell you! The majority of members voted against any change for now. I certainly don’t see a need for change on either of the holes.
Just played the back 8 (those who have played there know what i mean by that) and she’s immaculate. The work on the new greens hasn’t started as yet so no temporary greens in play.

Word back from BMan is that he needs to stay local at this stage for Boxing Day. Not sure if I’ll get another hit on the 27th but if it was super early, I might be able to swing it.
