If you want a tough weekend plaing off the blacks then come up for Hannans Open otherwise any of the ther events are great..The Kalgoorlie Classic is the big one though..

just had a read through some of these old posts. Just thought I’d give it a bump to see if WAGC or MLGC have changed/improved. Anyone there or at Karrinyup feel like inviting me along for a round? ;)

LK pretty much impossible these days. LIfted profile after the tournament means the waiting list now as long as your arm, plus a leg or two. Which to a certain extent was one of the objectives of holding the event in the first place

If you had volunteered to help out at the HANDA, you would have got a free round :-) WAGC is always in good condition, we have one of the best green keepers in town.

Lakelands is my old mans home club, play it regularly with the reciprocal rights. Always tell him, flat is boring the course needs some hills on it. But jokes aside i do like the place, the members there seem like a good bunch and the course is always in good nick

Thinking of giving Lakelands a try for their three month trial thingo. I just called the course and they seem to say that on Sundays, you can just show up and walk on.
|
|
hmm dunno why they would tell you that as there is a timesheet for sundays, however it is not usually a problem getting a game on sundays (barring pennants, club champs etc). fridays are just rock up and play, there is a comp but it is optional if you dont want to play. mondays and tuesdays are usually no competition, so social golf can be played then. give the 3 month trial a go. the course is not at is optimum condition atm due to the new retic going in but in a couple of months it will be back to good condition

Machair, I used to be a member at Wanneroo but it used to take half an hour to get there and that was before there was any traffic. It was a great club then but I couldn’t make use of it often enough. Also, with the cost of fuel these days, you need to take that into consideration as well. Join somewhere close and go there often. You won’t regret it.

Sound advice. The best golf club is one you use often. I am 5 mins drive from mine, the staff fear I am homeless given the hours I spend there
|
|
very true, couldn’t imagine having to travel long distances to get to my home club. Machair – Have you checked out Wanneroo GC? far superior course IMO with similar fees to Lakelands. Practice facilities are probably a bit better at Lakelands but i prefer to do my practice on course anyway ;)

wanneroo is much further away than Lakelands

Really? i am from SOR but would have thought they would be fairly similar to get to if travelling up the freeway?

Nope wanneroo GC is way past Lakelands. It is about 12km as the crow flies – further by road

Yep, its a lunch box and water bag trip from SoR

Only way you’ll get hills on a course in Perth is to import them from the east coast.
