Kingaroy Golf Club

I just spent a week at Kingaroy and had a very pleasant week playing their “Harvest Festival”. [April]
This course is a hidden gem and in great condition, much to my surprise. I would recommend any one visiting the South Burnett area in Queensland to give it a go.

I pass down that way once in a blue moon. Might have to give it a go. What does it cost to play 18 there? Also, if you get up to Maryborough, give that one a go. Can’t remember the cost, but it’s worth it.

I think it is around $18, I’m not sure as I was with a group [vets] and just handed over money as I was asked for it both before and after the games.
Heading to Maryborough next month with a group and will go on from there to Hervey Bay.

Ahh Saturday arvo’s at Kingaroy in grade six, with lemon lime and bitters after, we felt like kings, (then called mum to come get us). Those were the days. Only remember two holes, one across a dry river bed and across the left hand side of a lake?

Circa 1980ish

I can recomend Hervey Bay, as it’s on of the better non resort courses that I’ve played in the area. Don’t bother with some of the other courses in the Bay, as they are for hackers only. Passable fairways, and dodgy greens. Maryborough is great value for money.

The only other one in the Bay that’s worth a mention is Craignish. Nowhere near as well maintained as the Maryborough or Hervey Bay courses, but still leaps and bounds ahead of the others in the area.

Reefer,
Hidden gem is right. i work there about a week a month and do my best to get on the course every trip.
I was there last week and managed to sneak in three rounds, with the rain they have been getting the course is in the best condition i have seen it for a few years. And at 21bucks a round i can’t think of too many courses that can match it for value.

Im heading out to Kingaroy on Monday of next week, I’ll check out the course for sure as I have Tuesday off. Thanks for the tip.

I like Kingaroy, havent played there for a long time and Google Earth doesnt suggest much has changed, but thats not a bad thing

Dont hit it into the trees on the 2nd, you will be playing Pinball trying to get out :-)
