Thanks to the help of many iseekers we now have hundreds of user
reviews for many of the 1800 Australian golf courses but we would
like many more so that we can make it a great place to search for
a new course to play or perhaps a golf trip interstate! But we
can only do this with your help…so if you have some spare time
drop by our course database and write a paragraph or two about
your home course and any others that you may have played. Thanks
for your support as always!

Where do i go to exactly to do my own Course review???

Hi aggiii,
You go to our golf course database and search for your course and then click on the user reviews button on the page for the golf course or scroll to the end of the golf course page and click on "Add Review". The Golf Course page are here - www.iseekgolf.com/courses/i... which I left out of the above message...whoops!

Thanks

Hey Bebox. I have tried to review a course and it tells me I need to log in. So i put in my details and then it tells me that it doesn't recognise me and I can't post my review.

What gives?

Brad - bebox probably got a lot of that info from the AGU's database or from reviewers who email him with updates.

Hi Brad,
Just email us at info@iseekgolf.com (or follow the link on the course pages) with any updates and we will make the changes.

Thanks for your help.

Bushy,

The idea is that you do it yourself. Check out Admin's earlier comments above in response to a similar query.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

I really like the review feature. Very handy for travelling golfers. Is it forseeable in the future that we’ll be able to edit our own reviews?

I’d like to see an additional option to enter the scorecard for the course. (That’s a BLANK scorecard I mean).

It would help with use of programs for handicapping that print their own cards or keep track of scores.
I can contribute with many scorecards around NSW.

I think Marcus has a good point

As mentioned, it would be a good option to be able to edit/correct/update/delete our own reviews particularly to reflect changes in course conditions and facilities over time.

Bananas – Thx for the feedback.

The problem with that is of course wayward idiots deleting all their reviews for whatever reason.

Reviews have dates that reflect the time they are written. If your view changes you just need to right another review with your updated views.

Reviews serve as timeline of what people’s views of the course over time. Anyone reading can see a course might have been drought stricken in 2004-2005, reviewers start saying it improved in 2006, more reviews in 2007 saying renovations have helped the course etc etc.

If you could change an old review then you lose all that timeline of information. We could certainly allow editing within a week of posting it to fix typos etc but that would be about it.

I can’t think if any site that allows you to change your reviews.

Thanks for the insight admin – makes sense.

A couple of times I’ve gone to put new reviews in and the courses haven’t been listed. The only one that springs to mind right now is the Kings Cove Golf Club in Metung, Vic. What’s the best way to request courses to be put into the database?

Good Bump Divot. I’d just like to throw my support behind the Course review section. Really makes a difference when searching for a new course to play.

And I hate it when the last review was pre-2005 (granted some of the goat tracks I go to may not have been attended by ISGers since then!) as I know they aren’t really relevant to current conditions.

So i encourage all to chuck a review up of any course you’ve played recently. Trust me, people do read them!

Bump. It’s been nearly a year and that King’s Cove Metung course is still not listed. It is worth listing.

WTH? I saw emoticons in some posts on this thread??

Admin…............can you please advise how some of the courses have pictures of the courses on their review page and some don’t? Some also have a lead in comment beside the picture.

Is there some way I can get a picture for my home course displayed? (which I recently did a review for) Also can a I get a brief comment displayed beside the picture? (perhaps from our web page)
