Everyone talks about the courses they love. What about the courses they dislike, or courses where they have shot way over their respective handicaps?
I've never played there but I hear that Ranfurlie can be pretty brutal.
Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US |
i find Sanctuary Lakes difficult.
The first time I played Victoria I won the comp with 41 points. In my 10-15 subsequent games I've been unable to play within six of my handicap.

Morack - I hate it and it hates me. Never, ever have played well there.
Unfortunately, given it is my home course, so do I
benstone I've played there 5 or 6 times off a handicap of either 5 or 6 and only broken 80 once.

Had 91 once in an event at portsea in 1997 when it was blowing a ferocious gale... Someone else had 104. Playing off 4-5 too... But for some reason thats why I really love the course, always plays different according to the weather.
Oh and also had 97 when playing off 7 in late 96 on RM west.
About 42 Putts in another gale.

Gave it away for a month of soul searching after the Cape destroyed me.

3 stabelford points on the back nine at Barnbougle in a gale with horizontal rain and 8 degrees... Have no trouble with the front just cant play the back.
what suburb of Melbourne are Barnbougle and Portsea in??
Well, I suppose that if we are being strictly correct then Ranfurlie and the Cape don't qualify either.

Ok, topic has been edited...from Melb to VIC.
i'm still pretty sure Barnbougle doesn't qualify

Olinda... I only ever played there when I thought about giving up

I HATE that course. I played there with a mate in some tourny they have called king of the mountain (or something similar, it was a while ago) 18 holes in the morning, catered lunch and 18 holes in the afternoon. After slogging it around the mountain for the first 18 after a couple of beers and a plate of roast beef it was straight home for me and b*gger the afternoon golf. It is so steep, I almost cried walking up the 4th and I thought my thighs were going to burst walking up the 5th, I had had enough by then.

Shrek pulls up another old thread. Ho hum. Moonah Links is a little bit long and hard at times. : )

Obviously you like them being ‘pulled up’ as you keep responding to them :) You still haven’t responded to the Long Island thread yet,or are you too scared to? Some things never change :)
