A player playing from the greenside bunker, hits another players ball that was on the edge of the bunker & it rolls back into the bunker.
Q. Does player 1 replace the ball or does player 2 have to play it from the bunker?
Current opinion is you only have to replace a ball that is on the green.

Thanks thieftaker. I thought that was the case but didn’t know the number. Goes to show that even 75 year olds who have been playing for 50 years, aren’t always right.

ll, if I am still playing golf at 75 I’ll be happy and if I make mistakes with the rules – whatever!

And the player can always replace the ball himself (Rule 20-3), it does not have to be the player moving the ball.
