Just wanted to know how to fill out the score card for, stroke stableford & match play?

anybody?

chriso For stableford you put the score you had on that hole in the player column and the stableford score in the result column, so if you had a 4 on the hole for 2 stableford points then you mark 4 in the player column and 2 in the result. In my experience you dont mark matchplay scores on a card, between you and your oppenent to keep a record. Others may do it differently. You will use the matchplay index on the score card if you are using handicaps. Is that what you wanted to know?

And don't forget to put your Handicap on the card, for Stableford, Par etc, as you can be disqualified if it is not on, also it is not you responsibility to add up the scores, it is the Comittee's or their Delegate, so if you are a bad added just leave your strokes, and points per hole, so you don't make a mistake.

thanks Janjuc.
only one game away from getting my handicap

depends on your handicap. say u r off 18,that means you have a extra shot on each hole.
par 4 for eg if you get a birdie its worth 4 points but if you are off say 10 some holes you wont have a extra shot on them so a course par is only worth 2 points. if that doesnt make sence im sorry cheers

Probably the best way to learn is with someone as you play the round, and are shown how to do it. Most, if not all of the players at most clubs will help you as you go around.

Im in this catergory, im only a new member at my club and hadn’t played any games such as stableford, par, match play etc until the weekend, and as you say Janjuc the guys who i was playing with were pretty good about it and help me out with my scoring etc.

Chriso 882, If you have a current Rules of Golf booklet (2008-2011) you’ll find the Stableford scoring system explained on page 115.

You can always just play golf , write your score for each hole , and let the committee apply your handicap to each hole and work the points out for you , it isnt your responsibility But it isnt rocket science lol

Chriso posted his stuff about three years ago and hasn’t posted since, I’d bet he’s worked it out by now or no longer plays :)

Yeah after all we’ve all been the newby, so we all tend to help anyone that is a first timer, after all it is a confusing way to score a card.
