Rules App on iPhone, allowed?

I know we all carry a rule book when we play, don’t we ;-), but sometimes that is not enough and we need to refer to the decisions as well. I have the Rules of Golf app on my phone. Am I able to look things up on that or do we have to wait to get an official to bring out the decisions book? Obviously I wouldn’t usually be this picky but with pennant season coming up and all, I thought I would ask.

Rules and decisions apps are fine. 14-3/16 lists some examples of what is and isn’t allowed. Which app are you using for the Decisions? The last time I tried R&A’s app, the Decisions weren’t covered. The USGA app has them but is a bit trickier to download to phones outside the US. That’s on Android though, maybe iPhone is different?

I have downloaded the R@A Decision app, and it works fine – I used it yesterday for a Rules exam and didn’t open my paper version at all.

Just checked it out again—R&A decision app only on iOS, not Android.

just downloaded from thew “play Store” on my samsung galaxy, android…works great… so far will try it out on saturday. will get one of the boys to give me a scenario/ question, see how efficent it is in real time

I think thechopper is talking about the Rules app, not the Decisions app.

I’ve got the R&A app on Android. Its title is ‘Rules of Golf’.

Browse here with your phone and you’ll probably see it says it’s incompatible with your device. It also doesn’t show up for me because my device is incompatible, but it runs just fine.
