Artificial Device

A bird feather tied to some cotton string attached to your buggy to indicate wind position.

Would this be an artificial device under rule 14-3?

Cheers, Peter.

Tell people it’s a lucky charm….

If it is there for the purpose of gauging or measuring distance or conditions that might affect the play of the player, then IMO, it would be a breach.

A “lucky charm”? You don’t see to many dream catchers out on the course.;)

Its all about intent, given the intent it would be a breach.

As for measuring distance provding an appropriate local rule was in force this would be okay. Although hard to imagine a feather being that effective unless play was unduly delayed (which would be a breach in itself).

probably depends on whether the bird is still attached to it as well. The RSPCA might object to that!!

Yeah i reckon people with hair that blows in the wind have an unfair advantage 8oP

Unless this feather was set up like a wind vane, it wouldn’t work… this discussion is moot…
