dry.gif Would like to hear thought's on the grand slam irons from power bilt thinking of buying a set?

That's a brand you see advertised on the back of all
the golf mags but never see on course.

Any reason PB's caught your attention?

D

how much is the PB??? coz u can probably get a decent set for the same price...and possibly with a higher resale value...

The Grand Slams are not their finest creations, but they are a decent club. Powerbilt gear is generally very good quality, well made and consistently finished.

Some of their forged irons are nice to look at, too.

The latest PowerBilt TPS series, though uglier than it's predecessors, is apparrently a very playable and forgiving iron.

PowerBilt in the US decided to move away from player sponsorship to market their gear, and it has hindered their profile. Depending on where you buy, though, they represent reasonable value, IMO. I just haven't seen anything in their current range that I like more than WITB.

$ 550.00 3-SW.

I have recently upgraded my clubs from the Power Bilt Grand Slam oversize (bought 2 years ago) and they are a very good club for someone starting off or getting back into the game after an extended absence.

However, if I had the time over, I would have researched more thoroughly and I may have gone the way of the clone club instead.

I had TPS7.0 (I know not the model discussed but what I have to say appliies to allPB) earlier this year before I upgraded. Good club, but like any Powerbilt clubs in Oz have worse resale than Holden Commodore. Make sure that they are fitted properly and you plan on keeping them long term.

...ok...i have a set of citation II's and beta titanium driver wich i caved in or uncrowned 3 times in 2years...Powerbilt replaced anything on my set whenever i asked...and now have given me their latest driver TPS400 last time i busted their Beta...no problem since...ive also tried the slams...

Powerbilt is real good in garanty and service, no doubt...no questions asked...and a policy for life.

they are good clubs...for a golfer who wants to jump in to golf equipment revolution and get rid of grampas clubs...and if your not sure yet that you are an addicted fool of the game and WANT TO GET BETTER.

what i mean is, you must decide...are you going to be a weekend warrior, just keep it in fairway and not work on my swing but just want the tech edge? if so, go ahead and buy them, good job.

If your goal is too play till you get the hogan and Moe hands and get on plane and educate those hands till you hear the magic, well...i'd reconsider...

wait a year, find golfguru to fit you with what you need once youve tweeked your swing to something you like and can HONESTLY work with.

take care, PD

i had a set of tps 6.0 irons and for a time they were the club for me .as my game improved i found the clubs was not for me.imo i would say powerbilts are agood range of clubs for the 12 plus golfer.

I'm way over the 12 mark mate so I think they will do me for quite a while.
