Thanks for your fresh reply!

I think any make of clubs would be fine for you. However, due to your height, you would need to buy a set of clubs from someone that is able to adjust the club lie angle and the shaft length. Kind regards, Ben (Ducky).

Clubvalet,
As for advice go and see a clubfitter to find the right clubs for
you. Nargah

Consider getting properly fitted for a set from a local
professional, or reputable club builder in your area, you should
be able to get something that best suits.

Im 6"6. My advice is get you clubs adjusted for lie but dont neccesarily get them as long as would be advised. mine are 1 inch over whereas I was recommended 2 inches over (tried it, horrible results)

I'm only 6'3. My brother is a similar height (maybe a tad bit smaller), and his pro recommended that his club shaft length be increased by 2 inches and his club lie angle raised by 2 degrees. I played a round with him quite a few weeks ago, and I don't think I hit a decent shot with his clubs. I'm sure the adjustments were an effort to round out his swing, not due to his height. :? Kind regards, Ben (Ducky).

Ducky , Was he fitted by a Henry Griffiths fitting person? They come up with some WEIRD crap.
|
|
Ben i'm a measly 5'7 and used them HG heads to get fitted on a lie board..we came up with 4^ upright... is the HG "standard" different to others? otherwise i cant see how this can be wrong :? i never did buy any hg's or 4^ upright clubs.

Ben , No, he's not associated with Henry Griffiths. I will ask my brother for his name next time I speak to him. Basically, he outfitted my brother with some Taylormade irons that feel like you are swinging a broom! 8O Kind regards, Ben (Ducky).

I thought henry griffiths was not bad but depending on the club fitter?

I reckon HG clubs are pretty good. I probably would’ve got fitted for some more but I broke my 5 iron once and it took nearly 2 months for it to get repaired. Mind you it did have to go back again due to the courier crushing it in transit…still 1 month to get repaired is a bit long I think. My only other issue with HG’s and it’s the same with any component stuff is the trade-in value is low compared to OEM stuff. As for your Question ClubV, being 6’7” will probably mean that you will need to fitted for something decent. Oh yeh, just because some clubs are more expensive than others doesn’t mean they are better. It most likely means they blew heaps on promoting them and to make some coin back.

yes HG clubs are longer than standard by quite a bit, this explains the need to bend upright if you put the heads on standard shafts…

You can custom order a set from Lind at 1 1/2” over standard. Get a shaft upgrade while your at it and you will have a nice set of sticks
|
|
So, Lind are doing Lie adjustments now? He would most definitely need lie adjustment of at least 3deg upright, so take note clubvalet you WILL need Forged heads…. if I were you I’d be looking for a nice cheap set of forged second hand heads and getting them built from there, if you are on the Gold Coast email me cliffmanley at yahoo.co.uk

guys the person who asked this in 2004 has only 2 posts i would be surprised if they had not already got their clubs by now
The tool no longer absorbs our attention. Beyond and through the
tool we are rediscovering nature as it was, |

Why does everyone say HG’s are ALWAYS longer? we have 2 fitting pros in my town at different courses, one seems to fit his customers with very long clubs while my coach who i got fitted off made mine like half an inch longer than standard which just feels comfortable to me. I think its more down to the fitter than the brand.
