As someone recently returning to the great game it’s amazing to see the transformation in some companies. TM 10 or so years ago was a great innovator with the bubble shaft and really pushing the envelope for design.

Now it seems they are pushing the marketing envelope and little else.

How many “Burner” variants does the market need. I would have thought a range of 4 irons would be more than enough. Forged blades (low HCP), forged CB (low to mid HCP), cast CB for improving and max improvement CB’s.
Off their website they have 10 different sets of irons WTF are they thinking? How can I confuse the crap out of golfers?
And I’m not picking on TM….how many do Cally have in their range? FTi, FT, BB, X20, X20Tour, XTour, X Forged.

Mizuno only release irons every few years though, not every 6 months like TM do. Its redicolous trying to keep up with them.

Better than that. Their drivers are fantastic.

I think that when it comes to irons, the Draw models and some of the chunky ones make some people throw the baby out with the bathwater and forget that some of the irons are really nice.
I think that the TM multiple personality is the cause of some confusion for many, so they discount these irons from their wish list. You just have to ignore the models that are not designed for your game.
Having said that, I think that Draw irons are a crazy idea. I mean…if you’re slicing irons you’ve got REAL problems. What happens when you hit one of these things square? Snap hook?
At least with the MWT hybrids and drivers you can set them to neutral.

Thats right. When i first got my driver i was a mad slicer. Then i started hitting it straight. Then i started drawing the ball. Then i developed a snap hook. I have managed to start fadind the ball again now lol.

So if i had a draw driver, it would only be good when you are fading the ball. I dont like clubs that try to correct swing faults. Best bet is to work out what is causing the fault and fix that, not blame the club.
