Tipping Shafts?

Might have been covered here before but just wondering how much can be taken off a shaft?
I have 2 x Aldila Vs proto shafts one reg for a three wood and a stiff for a driver. I want the reg to play s-x and the driver XS. Will it affect a shafts performance?
 

Tipping to achieve desired flex: 1” off the driver shaft & 2.5” off the 3 wood assuming they’re both uncut to begin with.
2.5” is a fair whack to chop off the parallel tip section for the 3 wood so I’d suggest trying 2” & leave the club a half inch long & test it first . That way you have a margin for adjustment
