Hey Tim,

Just wanted to let you know I ended up tipping an 1inch and a 1/4 and shafting it fully making up to 49” vertical.

Came out slightly softer in flex than I anticipated but works like a dream, the lag is perfect!

I am going to use a 2nd shaft and go 50” vertical in the same weighted head. Do you reckon an inch and 1/2 or an inch and 3/4 to allow for the extra inch in length?

Thanks again for the advice.

That’s good news.

With the next one think about what you need it to do. Hit a lower ball for into the wind grid days or go higher for downwind grid conditions?

I don’t think you’ll hit the 50” any further than the 49” but see how you go. It may fly fractionally higher.

I’d leave it at 1 1/2” & test it just in case you decide to butt cut it later or tip it some more. Always err on the side of leaving yourself room to alter it from either end IMHO..
Remember too that you are adding to the stiffest part of the shaft with that last extra inch under the grip so tipping 1/4” it isn’t going to affect it significantly feel or flex wise it’ll just feel heavier to swing.

I’d be interested to see how you hit the 49” butt trimmed to 48”...what’s it sw at now?

True Tim.

I have made this one my normal condition driver although it has a flight that I can bring down a touch if I need to or up a touch if required. I tend to do this via technical adjustments.

My focus as you said is now on one low wind cheater or a run grid which I will make at 48” for control and flight with lower loft. So I will make the 49” again and butt trim to 48”

I will also set up a carry version for grids that have no run. This is where I am heading with the 50” with similar specs to the 49”

Currently moving the ball right to left so am also going to set one up an extra 0.5° open (this standard is 0.5° open) in case I need to ride a left to right wind or need to straighten the flight for some reason. I think this ties in with the above need also?

I don’t know what the make up of this one is in terms of exact flex, swing weight etc. But I am getting it tested this week so I have a bench mark to work around. Will keep you posted.

Feel it, execute it, live with it.
