Ive always said that golf clubs and cars are very similar
each comes out with a new model each year.
Always better than last year
people also compare the pros and cons of both clubs and cars.you see it here daily
Having said that
what do you rate your own irons with in the cars category
i have srixon I-506 irons and they are rated pretty highly so i would say they compare with something like a honda civic euro
not everyones cup of tea but those who have them will swear by them
say mizuno to lexus etc etc.
What is everyones thoughts

driver...cobra f speed aldila shaft reg
3w.......cobra f speed aldila shaft stiff
hybrid...cobra dws 20* aldila shaft stiff
irons....srixon I-506 4-pw dg r-300
wedges....srixon w-504 56*
vokey oilcan 52 @ 60
putter ..odyssey dual

Hmm intersting post. I have Mizuno MP 32 blades. I would say they are comparable to a Mitsubishi Evo. Not super expensive, great performance, narrow sweet spot (lots of turbo boost) and beautiful aggressive styling.

King Cobra 2300 I/M irons, stiff shaft 1.5” long, golf pride dual compound grips, Lind Driver with Graphalloy Blue Tour Launch stiff, 1.5” long… sort of like my car, Ford AU1 XR6 VCT 5 speed with 7×17 and 9.5×17” Hand made billet alloy wheels…. safe, fast comfortable and cool….

Driven a Honda Accord Euro, never could understand what people saw in them….the Focus is a much better car.

Cliff Manley

3 bad shots and 1 good shot is still a 4....
Golf is played in a very small area, the 6 inches between your ears...

One swing to hit the ball,
one swing to find a score,
One swing you bring to all,
And on the fairway find them.

My Tommy Armour MBs would be a 78’ Falcon 500. Absolutely perfect! My driver would be a prius.. Overpriced POS (sorry to Prius drivers!). My putter would be a Hyundai Excel, cheap and reliable.

1-L, it is all there my friend.

what a thread !
anyways:
my callys bb 2002 classic Cbs – honda accord
my cally x460 goto driver – falcon xr6 (minus the gasoline guzzling part)
putter maxfli d-tec cheap n pretty reliable – mitz lancer (point to point)

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors...
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

My callaway x tour forged irons would be like a hummer.
Powerful, sweet, and everytime you use it, its like sex all around you :) :) :)

great idea for a thread

IRONS: MP 57’s = GT3, sleek, naturally aspirated and performs better the harder you drive them. (not super forgiving though)

R7 425 = bit like a RX2 coupe looks great, likes a bit of tinkering with under the bonnet internals, absolutley flys when driven perfectly, but lack of control sees me ‘off road and in trouble’
also has a tinnie sound & made in asia

nearly??!!!
if only !!??

I think you have it wrong.

Women are like cars. You need to test drive as many as you can before you make the final decision.

Single figures are almost here! Only one more stroke!

does that mean that they have to go back to the workshop for a full rebuild every 20 rounds

my driver would be a Lada Niva, cheep ugly no one’s ever heard of it and no one would want it but gets the job done sometimes

Irons would have to be alfa rarely working well for me but when they are, love em.

putter would be a corolla cheep and common but reliable

A ha… Did you end up purchasing brand new, slightly used or ex rent a car? Question needs to be asked considering your analogy wanting to test drive as many as you could. Have to wonder how many sat in the driver’s seat of the one you puchased???

Obviously you have never driven a Hummer…

My Nickent 3dx driver…. 3lt Turbo Diesel Nissan Patrol. Big & Bulky, but gets the job done.
My Irons (Top Flite Tours…. Don’t start!) Toyota Lexcen (Rebadged Commodore)
Looks like a Commodore, goes like a Commodore, but it’s still not a Commodore.

Powered By Nickent....Mostly!

Okay I’ll play… but my drivers aren’t exactly cars…

Drivers:

Bang-O-Matic with Storm Shaft:

Mack Truck, solidly built and when it gets up to speed it makes a hell of an impact!

N-Forcer with WHUP n SHAFT:

Ah more like the 4:15 Diesel Express Train, if it’s coming through you best be not on the tracks!

Irons:

Bang Tour Tool Blades:

Like a Skoda Octavia… Not many people have heard of them or seen one but it works and gets me where I need to go!

Putter:

Do I have one? Um like a possibly stolen Vintage Car, under cover, rarely driven and I will have to check the garage to see if it is still there!!

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

Drivers:
Cally BBII 415’s – large, luxurious, easy to drive, and expensive
Cally C4 – Jaguar XJ220 – exotic, sporty, odd sounding (if anyone here has ever heard an XJ220 before, I compare the sound to that of a cement mixer), ahead of its time, and the original “uber car”
Cally ERC Fusion – McLaren F1 – an evolution of the XJ220, just better

Woods:
Cally Steelhead III’s – Lamborghini Countach – people wanted them, people bought them, they are small, and they are difficult to drive

Irons:
Ping Raptures – hard to say, but BMW M5 – sporty, fun to drive, easy to drive, but expensive
TM OS2’s – BMW M3 – little brother to the M5, but cheaper

Wedge:
Cally Forged+ – Hummer H2 – expensive, hard to drive, hard to park, and sucks down the gas

Putters:
SC Futura: Lotus 340R – radical looking and amazing handling
Odyssey DFX 5500 – Jaguar S-Type – just an dressed up Ford
