N.S.PRO 950GH WF vs D.G Superlites

Gentlemen would like your opinion on these two shafts.
N.S.PRO 950GH WF vs D.G Superlites both in stiff.
I’ve had the Superlites before in titleist 762’s and liked them.
I have a set of Titleist 755’s i would like to reshaft.
I hit the ball quite high , even with the Superlites.
The Nippon weight flow’s have been getting great reviews overseas.
I’m worried the Nippons might be a bit soft for me because of the kickpoint.
All opinions welcome!

Anyone!
Nigel O, any thoughts?

nige is a hard man to find these days. Tim may be able to help you with this.

Ok Tim, your thoughts?

ive had both and find the 950gh to be way smoother then the superlites. Both great ballflights

hi there, you will find that both shafts are a light weight steel shaft and will have about the same shaft profile. By my experiences with Nippon, most of the time a stiff flex will play more like a senior to reg stiffness. The DG is a better quality shaft, but if you are looking to hit it lower then you will be better off going for a normal DG shaft, if you dont like the extra weight of the DG then another option could be a Rifle Lite, but you will have to get in quick with the rifle lite because they have discontinnued that line

Thanks mate, already made the mistake of reshafting my 755’s with the Nippon’s, they fly too high for me, lost distance from 5 to 3 iron.
I’ve played D.G Superlites before and liked them but wanted to try something different.
Not going to reshaft them again as that cost me $320 so i’m trying to sell them.
Went to the Callaway Fitting Centre last week and came out with Rifle Project X Flighted!

If you’re a high ball hitter I’d go to a slightly heavier shaft. I too play the flighted PXs & like them a lot. Good choice IMHO. What flex did they fit you to?

Project X Flighted 6.0
I’ve always played stiff shafts.
I was surprised how my swing speed and ball flight where optimal with a stiffer and heavier shaft.
Will be getting the X-20 Tours in these as soon as I can offload my 755’s!

I have used the DG superlite and now changed to NS pro 950. Yes, I find my ball flight highjer using the NS pro compared to the Dg, thus losing some distance. I find this shorter distance a handicap at times. However, I find the NS pro an easier shaft to get the ball air borne when swing is not that perfect during play.
If you are hitting the ball quite high with the DG, I certainly will not switch to NS pro. IMO

Were you hitting outdoors or into a net at the demo?

Before you totally waste your money, why don’t you go and get your long irons delofted. Trial them to see if that will offset the higher ball flight ? This will only cost you $15 to $20 and might solve the problem. It seems to be a very radical step, going from light weight shafts to heavy ProX just to bring down your launch angle. Atleast get one of your irons reshafted to start with as a demo to see if you like it, before once again spending a heap of cash and then whinging about an outcome that should’ve been fairly predictable.
Jon…

Tim,
It was indoors into a net.
The simulator was amazing.
Give me a call 0400532606 or 02 93142029 if you want to chat about it.

I’ll bet a dollar you hit it at least half a Rifle flex softer on course.

Yeh, probably.
Will be getting a demo 6 iron in both 5.5 and 6.0 to take out on course.

i would definatly be a bit weary of the lauch monitors, looking by eye at a ball flight is still the best way to fit someone and look at what shaft is best. Dont get me wrong lauch monitors are good for lauch angle and spin rate but you must still look at the ball flight on the course. If you are at a range hit off the grass as well, mats have a good trick of lauching the ball higher than off the grass.
