Hi guys. have been readin all ur stuff for awhile now absolutly exellent has fixed a couple of my probs. Wonderin how many doods use draw clubs as im lookin 4 new draw driver not sure how many available n wots hot n wots not cheers.

TM draw burner great club for 18-22 hacker like me. Compensates for my slice very nicely. May be a problem for you if you already draw the ball though.

Cheers man.I belt one straight down middle 4 about 150 mtrs then at about 8GEES exit stage right 4 another 60-70 mtrs. Have dammaged left arm n wrist have no prob with irons only driver n fairways (longer shafts) maybe not sure .

Definately try both burners (draw and non draw) if they take your fancy. The non draw model still draws a fair bit and the draw version I assume is a lot more.

Several others have them now. Ping G10,Cobra Speed plus many others if you look around.

FT5 draw
FTI Draw
Mcgregor NVG2 Draw (Cheapest) of the lot

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?

There are several top brands with draw bias the TM Burner is good,Ping G10 draw which I have but my preference is Cleveland Launcher Offset 2006 model still available although in short supply from Ebay in USA.Wouldn’t touch Macgregor unless the shaft suits you.Cobra also has some but the sound uggh!

No matter how bad your game it is always possible to get better or worse

even the standard burner is 1.5 degree closed face..so is most of callaways drivers

try an off set model….if youre a really hideous slicer..an off set model is better than a draw model in my view…as this gives you that milli second longer to square the club which will make it go straight without hooking it

some draw models that are shut faced will baloon the ball high as it increases loft…losing distance..whereas the off set face wot baloon the ball, try the ping G5 off set

also a light reg shaft will help draw the ball a bit too….also consider a 44 inch shaft…the longer the shaft the longer the ball will go right

Dave, that is why I think my Burner is great. Light 50gm shaft and I had 2” chopped off the standard 46”

I just grip down a bit

like the longer option when a howling breez is behind me where I can afford to launch one knowing the wind is so strong it almost tunnels the ball straight

Any TM R7 where you can load the weights into the heel, standard or TP kits.

Gives you the option down the track once you have sorted your swing out to “neutral out” the weights without having to replace your driver.

yeah it does I suppose…Im not convinced altering the weight set up makes a huge difffernce..I trialed an R7 460 last year….I changed the set up numerous times…didnt make a huge difference…wasnt bad driver I must say though

Face angle as in closed and right shaft will help a slicer more than a 14 gram weight in my view

Burner Driver rocks! My best so far

Callaway FT-5.

Nice consistent feel.

Dave_1, I must confess I didn’t think of the 460 as it only has the two weight slots. I would agree with you that 14 heel/2 toe type setup probably wouldn’t be all that noticeable, although the 460 does have a closed face. I was more referring to the R7 original & the 425 where you can really load up the heel weighting, say 12/12/2/2 (heel to toe) or similar depending on what weights you have available. I’ve mucked around with a few of these and set them up for other people and have found this very effective in creating a “draw” driver. Doesn’t work for everyone of course. My point was more that as your swing improves, you can re-adjust the weights so that you are not stuck with just a “draw” driver in the long run.

Cheers,
Brett

Okay uraknob, I’ll bite:

It would seem fairly obvious that the original question writer (daggs) is probably in the same handicap range as duke750, or maybe higher, to be looking for a draw driver. One would imagine duke has tried out a few options in this regard as well, which in my very humble opinion, would make him fairly well qualified to comment on the subject at hand.

Having read your posts here and in various other topics, I think you may have misspelled your user id slightly. Shouldn’t it read imaknob?

Brett

Wasn’t going to reply to the knob, but Brett is right. I did try a number of drivers before chosing the FT-5. I tried the TM which was good, the Cleveland which didn’t suit me, the Nike which I didn’t like, the Burner which I hated, and a number of others. After all of that, I found the FT-5 the easiest to hit consistently.

My recommendation in another thread is for anyone to hit lots of drivers, get expert/professional help and buy the driver that suits you best.

I didn’t realise that only people on a low handicap had wisdom when it comes to golf.

I think a 15 handicapper has as much creed as 1 marker if hes experienced something that works for him then it may work for another 15 or 20 marker

I have seen some low markers talk crap also…..some low guys are good because they have solid fundamentals..doesnt mean everything they say is right though

I dont take everything a golf coach says as gospel either…everything in balance

ok sorry didnt get back sooner thanks for input will try and make it to city soon and try some out its hard from bush . yes i am high caper but love it .just gettin right into it and are determind to drop h/c real soon as i stated i have a f#@$%d up left arm have tried lots of mates clubs and still slice savegley hoping draw club may help will try everthing sugested cheers thanks for input good rounds to u all

If you want a bargain, the R7 draws are going really cheap to make way for the Burner. I got one in Dec straightened me up heaps. I had to change the shaft though ‘cause the standard soft tip shaft lost me some distance. Very rarely hit a slice now and have added about 15 metres.

uraKnob. You seem to have a 2 line limit on your posts. See if you can fill write 3 lines plus in your next post. Good luck.
15 handicappers are good golfers.

"Serenity Now"

I have met some 15 handicappers who driver the ball really well, they just cant hit an iron or putt…

Just because someone is 15 handicapper doesnt mean they dont have meaningful advice

finally got round to tryin a couple of drivers wanted to try more but run out of time. Havent made final pick yet, Took my current driver with me and used launch monitor (wouldnt mind one in shed) was hittin all over place best straightest about 190 mtrs .The best ive tried out so far was TM r7 draw managed about 70% of shots within 15 mtrs either side of centre thats awsome for me and averaged 225-230mtrs that put a smile on the dial hey Doogs, what shaft did u opt for rather than standard. According to monitor my club head speed ave is about 93 mph how much diff does this make Cheers Daggs
