Any good?
Just joined a new track, its not at all long so i need something straight, and yes i know i posted something the exact opposite the other week haha.
Thanks a bunch.

This isnt your driver if you want straight…

Any suggestions?

IF you want straight, grab anything from 10.5 degrees to 12 degrees.
less loft is easier to hit, easier to keep straight, and you may even hit it further than the 9 odd degree you are probably using but ego wont let you admit is too hard for most of us to hit anywhere near well enough…

I totally would, but i balloon the 9.5 i have already.
Does a higher M.O.I ALWAYS mean straighter drives?

SQ original goes plenty straight- its a good stick IMO. One thing is that it is low launching low spin head, so you want to make sure the loft and shaft are correctly fitted.

Its probably not as fancy in MOI as the newest drivers, but sure doesnt look too weird from address.

commonly MOI reported in lab tests is hard to translate into real world differences

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors...
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

So for about $150ish its not a bad stick?

anyone?

I know its exactly what you don’t wanna hear, but if the course is short and narrow, perhaps a driver isn’t the go at all. How are you with the long irons and f’way woods? Look at a TM R580XD for a D1, 2nd hand they are cheap as chips.

1-L, it is all there my friend.

Fairway woods arent flash, long irons are ok…
Pretty much only taking driver on the 4 par 5’s.

cleveland drivers, adams..heaps on ebay….srixon 506’s…heaps

i hit one of those mantra square Ti drivers the other day with a grafalloy blue stiff shaft

they are about $150 new .

i was told they are 8m longer than the callaway and just as straight on those mechanical driving machines

it was as long as my TM r7 425 and when i hit it… it went straight

the guy who owned it hit staright 80% of the time.. and he plays only corporate days .. maybe 5 a year??

i hated the fact my $$$ TM was no longer

nearly??!!!
if only !!??

Anywhere in Melbourne stock them?
In left handed of course.

I am a lefty, I bought a Tommy Armour Ayr driver with Grafalloy blue stiff shaft…love it to death..very straight and keeps up with Titleist D1 & D2
Bought from John Rangan on Newlands rd in Coburg for $189

wasted a few minutes of work time finding what i think might be the importer?.. anyway has a list of stokcist a mile longlink

nearly??!!!
if only !!??

R580XD
Adams 4350 BTY
Ping G2

The mates got an R7 460 9.5 with the REAX 65 stiff going for bugger all. I’d say you’de get it for $150 shipped, excellent condition. Between the big head and the movable weights it’s pretty easy to hit.

acer mantara lefthand on ebay at the moment brand new nv shaft about $90 i think . the shaft is worth that i was thinking of buying it just for the shaft

JohnThomas1, is your friends 460 left handed?

Higher MOI means straighter drives like a faster car means faster lap times. It’s all relative to the user. No offense tom but if you could hit it ok then a shovel would do.
Added loft is definitely the way to go for accuracy & if you balloon your 9.5º either you swing very fast, have a poor action or aren’t playing the right shaft.

Eek, sorry Tom didn’t see that bit.

Totally get where youre coming from Tim, i have no idea why i balloon the ball.
My distances are alright, i hit everything high and anything i land on a green backs up more than i’d like.
So i’m willing to sacrafice a bit of distance, but not to the point where its just becoming a straight 3 wood.

I have hit a mantra thing and they are pretty good. Cheap as chips. If the course isnt long id start mastering the 5 wood. I love mine, hit it nice draw and consistant 200m. If the hole is less than 330m its a good option really.

You will hit a 12º driver further than a 13º 3 wood all day off the tee & you can tee it up or down to alter the flight.

a 10.5 TM burner, i found it just as straight as the sumo but doesn’t balloon like it. that’s fro me anyway. great stick. i love it. i got a brand new one from the US for 200 AUD delivered. also got a full set of new cleveland gold irons from 3 -sw for 300 aud delivered. with the exchange rate the way it is you can’t beat buyng from there i reckon
