Loft gap between hybrids

I’m in a slight dilema

I want to add one hybrid to the bag. I already have an 18 degree for longer shots

should I go 22 degree or 25 degree hybrid

is 4 degrees enough between hybrids.

What are other guys carrying

What is your longest iron loft?

down and out…did ya get that?

Have a look at your course and see where you are likely to use it.

EG, Off tee, or mainly on fairways.

Do you need to hit high and carry hazards or run ball up to greens?

I use a TM Rescue Dual (14grm in toe) with an Aldila NV shaft and love it.

Flush it, chunk it, flush it, chip it, hole it 5 a half!
Flush it, flush it, three putt the half!

How far do you hit the 18 deg hybrid, how far do you hit your longest iron, & how far do you want the new hybrid to go. that will govern which club you need.

18 degree I hit 170-180. Our course doesnt have alot of roll…on firm course 180 easily

I can hit a 4 iron about 160 but Im inconsistent with it….I have persisted with it for a while but shank it and it goes no where

probabaly in that 150 -160 mark

Your 18 is ~ to a 3Plus Iron or a 2 Iron
so a 22
is probably equals to a 4 plus Iron

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !

yeah was thinking 22 also…me thinks a 25 would go up and up and get blown into the water where I play

On those figures I would also recommend the 22deg.See if you can find a demo somewhere that you can try.

I use a 19 degree (instead of a 5 wood) and a 22 degree instead of a 4 iron.

Happy with both of them.

Look down the barrel, pick it up, pump it, mean it.

nah will just ebay a srixon or TM…I have a srixon 18 and its great, if I can get a matching 22 in that I would be fine…or a tayor made…because they look identical

I use a 22 Srixon with regular shaft instead of a 4 iron and it is good for 170 to 180 metres…also excellent to get out of rough which is cut 3 to 4 inches just off fairway. Have also got an 18 Srixon with Adilla shaft which is probably 15-20 metres longer

For my education what makes the hybrids fly so much higher than the same loft on fairway woods and irons. I have Callaway X fairway woods, X hybrids and X-20 irons all with steel shafts and the hybrid has a much higher flight and is pretty much unusable on windy days. The hybrid is so easy to hit I would like to keep it in the bag every day, any clues on what I can do to get a lower trajectory.

learn to hit a draw with it, that keeps it lower for a start

often I have seen many people fade thier hybrids, this floats it up in the air

also going to a shaft with a stiffer tip will keep it lower also, but generally hybrids are designed to go high, thats what makes them easy to use

in reposnse to doc…yeah I will get the srixon, hopefully I can snare a second hand one from somewhere
