I recently bent my beloved Titleist 755 7 iron, i have removed the DG S300 shaft to replace it and noticed it is different to a DG S300 in my old set which was 3 years old.

I would have thought it should be the same shaft. How is the step pattern different?
down and out…did ya get that? |

shaft code is different…..there is a J slapped in the middle of it…... dunno what it is or what it means, might have to send it back to titleist
sigs are back – YAY |

It’s a Taper Tip Super Light S300. Your old set are probably not Super Lights but regular S300s in parallel. They have a slightly different step pattern. The SL doesn’t have a couple of larger 3” steps up by the grip end. It’s has 8-9 1.75” steps all the way up.

Cheers Tim, I over looked the fact that it was taper tip in comparison.. And thought this might be the reason.. Interestingly these were sold to me as regular S300’s not super lights, any idea why the shaft would not have any other identifying marking’s to say it’s super light.. Other SL shaft’s i have seen include the SL logo.

As we’ve already noted the SL has a different step pattern. Even the smaller steps are different widths to a stock DG. It’s pretty clear if you know what you’re looking at.. Did they come with plain DG shaft bands?

I measured the step pattern out of curiosity and went on the true temper website.. It matches the S300 .355T on the site, 12 1.75 steps, 9.0 to the tip. The additional letters in the code really confused me, but i do feel pretty silly for overlooking the fact it was a taper tip shaft.
