Srixon I-302 irons

I am new here so hope it is appropriate to fire in with this. As a bit of background, I played a lot when I was younger and am getting back to playing again. I am 51 now. My son is also interested so I got a set of Wilson Prostaff irons thinking they are OK for him to get started and OK for me to get back to golf. So down to the range. Nice straight hits but if you want to shape any shots, not on. So, looking around, I have found a set of Srixon I-302 irons secondhand. The budget doesn’t stretch to new at the moment. These seem to be loved by those who have them. Is there any problems in buying 4 year old clubs these days? Thanks in advance, John

No those irons are great, they have a little forgiveness with the looks of a traditional blade. Id easily play a set of I-302s, i think they look awesome.

no problems with 4 year old irons. I have these in the bag and I prefer these over srixon 506 irons which have recently been superceeded by the 701’s. They are also in bags of some pros eg webb, and until recently allenby who I think bags the 701’s now.

I vote for them too. Quality materials and quality craftsmanship.

Thanks again for the replies. I have since found these have stiff shafts in them, which are not for me at the moment. So I will keep looking.

I have got a set of them. Have had them for 3 years and find them fantastic. Got the woods and drivers as well. Great value and great clubs.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Sorry to disappoint all the Srixon fans, but have just bought up a set of MacGregor Tourney Forged PCB Tour Irons with Reg steel shafts. Yes, a few years old but in excellent condition. I just couldn’t handle the stiff shafts in the I-302’s I was looking at. Will see how the Macs go and if I don’t like them, the search will continue. Thanks again for the comments, John
