hey guys im sick of seeing so many fakes on ebay. Its pretty good especially if your after an FT-i.
that is scary how easy it is to get burnt…..
I’m seeing some really good fakes these days. Had an FT-i in here last week that was one of the best I’ve seen.

had a callaway big bertha fairway wood and a full set of nike come in today both fakes off ebay both owners thought they had the real stuff and both sellers were 100% ebay is dodgy as

I wonder which manufacturers the scums wouldnt bother faking.
they were the pro combos he had the full set with woods the nike bag looked like it came from woolworths i havent seen a srixon fake but have seen plenty of titleist , adams , nike , callaway , taylormade , cleveland and mizuno and yes putters are getting hit hard at the moment with fakes as of january every yes putter sold will come with a certificate of authenticity and a free shirt you wont get this deal off ebay as i have heard all the yes putters on there are fake direct from hong kong

You know there is absolutely no guarantee that what you buy is real unless you buy from a recognised company retailer and pay full money. That’s the crunch ! you think you’ve got a bargain, well maybe you have but maybe its a fake too. You decide to take the risk if you buy something that’s CHEAP or on ebay or whatever. I’ve seen some really wonderful looking fakes here, even some with serial numbers too. A certificate or a promise or whatever is going to make no difference, you can buy a Doctorate here with all the paperwork, let alone a simple certificate for a putter. You buy cheap or from a non recognised dealer you take the risk that what you are buying is fake, you take a gamble. If you loose then seems like the only one who took the wager was the buyer…the same goes if you win. The question is.. Is it worth the risk?. To me no it isn’t.

Thanks for that mate, very interestingHappy Xmas
No matter how bad your game it is always possible to get better or worse |

Hi i was wondering if there is a way to check the serial numbers of clubs, i have a set of Mizuno irons, i had a look on the Mizuno site but cant find anything about verifing authenticity, any help would be appreciated.
is the serial number on the ferrule or head i think mizuno were putting it on ferrule . inter golf is australian distributor they are in melbourne but if clubs have come from ebay or usa they will have no warranty and they probably wont be able to tell you if they are fake as they only keep record of the clubs they sell not ones that have come from else where
just cos the club has serial numbers does not mean it is geniune. Some fake clubs have serial numbers. They are getting very good these days.
OK thanks, i was of the understanding that some manufacturers had a serial number checker on there sites. I would be pretty confident the irons are real, if they are not someone has spent a lot of time and money producing irons that certainly have a great fell to them. Cheers

I bought a secondhand Callaway FT-5 and, even though it looks good, I asked on the Callaway Oz web site if there was any way to check if it was authentic. Their recommendation was to take it to a Callaway dealer to check. Apparently fakes have serial numbers too, and there is no way to determine whether the serial number on the club is legit. I haven’t come across any web site that shows how to detect a fake FT-5 (the one mentioned above does the FT-i).
How does the serial number work?
so what can you do for a set of mizuno’s that are on ebay to see if they are fake or not? they all claim to be reputable sellers, but how do you tell? I am guessing people with like 1000+ rating would be selling legit stuff….
I would never buy irons off the rack so why go to Ebay? Irons should be custom fitted, end of story, no chance of fakes then.
Well if you know what shafts you want, your lie angles and what head you want, why not buy off ebay.
I agree, if you know your specs, why not save a few bucks on ebay…
Is this one a fake? Sure looks like it
Must have been. Item has been removed
why not buy off ebay ......um for the same reason this topic was started.
well you can save about $700 on a set of irons. As mentioned if you know your length, shaft, lie and waht grips you want, then bingo custom fitted irons for half price. The sellers who have 1000+ ratings and are reputable online sellers cant be selling knock offs to survive in the competitive market. Most claim they get the irons direct from USA, they have no overheads, hence the cheap price.
Have found Srixon fakes with Hybrids…if you have any doubts (and the price is too good.) go into the Srixon website and check their models…
Here is a good test for everyone. The price screams ‘too good to be true’, but the seller’s rating is 100%, and they purport to importing them from the US. Can I get some opinions?
