anyone delt with this guy..
MP 57s
price seems to good to be true.. his feed back say arecent mizuno product hd factory papaerwork… is that any indication

nearly??!!!
if only !!??

Never used him but it looks legit to me, here’s my reasoning.

He’s a powerseller with 100% feedback on over 100 deals, all his sales are for golf gear, lots of different mizuno models sold and he offers custom shaft and grip options.

PT

Anyone want to comment on the pricing?

Are these a good option for a 16 hcp aspiring to better things?

There are stacks of shaft options too…

i think mizuno are trying to track this guy down as they can not be genuine at that price $ 180 retail in store he is selling them under $100 per iron shops dont make over $600 profit on irons like these plus no factory warranty if they are genuine item would have to be sent back to seller too cheap to be genuine .

Quick Robin, to the BatCave…

Did the Bat Computer give you a tip-off? Or do you know someone at Mizuno?

neither was interested in a set of mp-60 and went to a demo day and told the rep what price they are on ebay and he said mizuno had been told about a guy selling mizuno ( more than likely counterfeit ) on ebay cheap and they were trying to track him down as he was using logos and pictures which mizuno have the only rights to do and he was selling them as the genuine article and even if imported from usa he could not sell them as cheap as he is without making a loss , more than likely they are not genuine but very good imitations

... what to do.. what to ….i so want them …but i guess if i keep off the beer and pokies for two or three weeks then can afford go to the local pro.. er …golf pro and buy them ??

Are you protected by eBay or PayPal from getting ripped off?

If the clubs aren’t legit there are plenty of avenues for at the very least getting him busted.

Find it interesting that someone who offers comprehensive shafting options is shifting dodgy gear… seems like an overly complicated way of ripping people off. And he does have a very good track record of buyer ratings… can they all be shmoes?

BTW, bought a dirt cheap TM titanium 3 wood which I love… can I use the serial numbers to verify it somewhere else?

I think it’s funny that the guy states in the write up “if you have any doubts check my 100% feedback score” I’ve worked in sales a long time, you can do everything right, bend over backwards for customers and still piss someone off.
It does seem a little bit dodgy if someone has to state that they are not.

as the old saying goes. if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. I actually looked at this guy before i bought mine. He was very defensive when i asked him questions. he keeped saying look at my feedback if you have any doubts. Also, he says you get a warranty when you buy from him but Mizuno clearly states that ebay is a re-sale site and all purchases on ebay make the warranty void

my advice – spend the extra $$$ and get it from a authorized dealer.

muntz – these clubs are perfect for a 16 handicap. i play off 20 although i usually play to 14-15 over.

these clubs look great, feel like butter and you only lose 10 metres on mishits.

distance is about 10 metres further than my old powerbuit clubs and spot dispersion is tighter.

perfect club for the mid handicapper who wants a forged iron with some forgiveness.

Cheers, thanks for the endorsement. What’s the best “haggle” price you could expect from a pro shop?

BTW, here are some Mizuno demo days coming up for Melb:

13/12/2007 4pm-7pm The House of Golf – Keilor
15/12/2007 10am-2pm Woodlands Golf Club Pro Shop Members Only
19/12/2007 4pm-7pm Bulleen Driving Range

I’ll probably pop into Bulleen next Wed.

they retail at $190 an iron so a total of $1500

you could probably get them for between $1200-$1300

you can buy them from two american online stores www.tgw.com or www.golfsmith.com for $USD 850 + Shipping ($900 with project x shafts)

if you go to the demo day try out the MP-600 driver. You won’t be disappointed.

Got a long reply from the eBay guy. I asked if I can post it here in full. Turns out he’s a PGA member, a “master fitter” and coach to boot. He owns a bunch of stores overseas, spends a couple of months in Oz but his cousin handles the eBay.com.au side of things. Sees himself taking advantage of the big discrepancy between US and AU prices for Mizuno sticks. (GolfSmith has MP-57s for $850 for the stock shaft.)

By the way, heres a 500 KB PDF that describes where they see each of their clubs fitting in terms of handicaps: Mizuno Irons

Summary:
MP-67 +4 to 10
MP-32 +4 to 12
MP-60 +2 to 14
MP-57 +2 to 16
MX-25 4 to 22
MX-950 8 to 32
MX-19 8 to 32

So maybe MP-57s are what I’m after as I start to work on my game more seriously.

yeah, he is legit. i bought a set of mp-60’s from him 6 months ago. he is actually the best ebayer i have dealt with. very helpful and keeps you up to date. i changed my specs a few days after sending them off to him and he was only too happy to change them. 3-pw ended up costing me $820(delivered) custom made direct from the factory factory with cord grips and DG shafts. very pleased with them :)

thanks for that.. .. nice to know not everyone is out to rip you off

Go get the Mizunos, Ive got MP60s and they are the best investment I ever made as far as equipment is concerned, you will love them Im sure.
will buy them again next time.

"the woods are full of long drivers"

I’ll say it again dont presume its fake because its on ebay…and I have seen plenty of fake gear in legit golf shops

These guys will sell clubs because its easy…few clicks of the moouse and yoyu mkake maybe a couple of hundred on $800 set…post it and its done…its all computer work that takes them about 5 minutes

thats far different than say a golf retailer who has to sell the clubs to a customer…which takes time-phone calls and so on

On mizunos they are sweat irons…and I have my eyes on a set too…either that or srixon 701’s or 506’s

go the srixon i-701 tour they are sweet

would they suit a 12 handicapper..are they forgiving enough?

i think so they are targeted at 15 down they just feel so much better than any forged iron on the market and i tried them all before purchasing the srixons

cheers..will try and get demo 6 iron and play a round with it

i got them !! now wainting for delivery
