being an ex staff player (Di5 irons and the like) but all off the shelf there was a lot of knockers for the staff gear and Wilsons efforts to get into the premium enbd of the market. Will this change know has anybody noticed it. i will admit i sold my old irons on ebay just this week for $205 which is not bad for 3 through S when new ones were floating around for 300 to 400 I think. Sadly now a Callaway boy and i dont think we have seen a major out of one of there players apart from Phil Intersting to see thoughts

Unlikely. Wilson don’t exactly market themselves well compared to Callaway, TaylorMade and Acushnet. The fat shaft was the demise of Wilson. While the idea was sound, they made a horrible wooshing sound when swinging them.

I think you will see a resurgence because of the lift in their profile albeit only a minor one. Their irons are very good value IMHO. The Fatshaft was one of Wilsons best selling lines which is why they have reintroduced it. Not too sure about that wooshing sound golfslut. I can’t remember mine doing that but they were the thinnest fatshaft Wilson made..

I have the new Di7’s and love em, but only buy to 9 iron the wedges are just too big. I agree with Golfslut about the woshing sound. A mate of mine has graphite fat shafts in the Deep Red Iron series and they certainly wooosh and you can tell between a good shot and bad shot on the sound of the woosshhh!

Are you sure that’s note your mate muttering “F!@#$” under his breath after impact on the bad shots? :)
