Callaway X Forged Vs Mizuno MP60

Had a hit with the new X Forged (with Proj X 6.0 shafts) at a demo day the other day… they were sweet…. In fact have hit a couple of different clubs with Project X shafts recently…. all rather nice.

Anyway to my questions: Does anyone own a set of the X Forged… how are you finding life with them??

Does anyone have any thoughts on the X Forged Vs the MP 60..? The MP 60 looks like a very nice club however no-one up in my neck of the woods stocks them so I will have to come south to hit one; I’m keen to hear peoples thoughts on a comparison between the X Forged and MP60 to see if it is worth my while to head south for a hit of the Mizunos.

Cheers

finally took the plunge and bought x-forged…..got em with DG cause i have never like a rifle shaft…..not 1

they are sweet, probably not as soft to hit with as the srixon I-506’s i’ve got, but still great feeling clubs and excellent playability.

the x forged were part of an elite group of clubs shortlisted.

X-Forged TM RAC LT (original) TM RAC CB (orginal) Bridgestone J33CB

for me mizuno’s never made the list…..they are sure nice clubs, but probably couldn’t be stuffed getting loft and lies every month…....last set of mizuno forged were soooooo soft, had lofted and lied after 6 months, were generally 4-5deg out

sigs are back – YAY

I have had over the last six months – 695mb’s, TB1000’s, R7 Forged, modified groove Rac Mb’s. And have now settled on the X-forged with PX 6.5’s, and they are the best set of irons I have had in years, interms of ball flight, top line’s and feel.

I much prefered the Mp 32’s and 67’s compared to the 60’s.

Callaways are all over-rated rubbish.

Statements like that are really constructive! You are sounding very much like another, perhaps you are also Chachi??? Or you have come out of the same 2 inch mould. Either way go back to your ‘golf manager’ job whatever that is or try very hard, against your nature I know, to put your point across like and adult.

Are the Callys X Forged more forgiving and workable than a pure muscle back blade?

Mizuno is much better.

anyone have any thoughts on the clevo cg2’s, in the market for a new iron set and seen these around even though they are now an old model surely someone still has some ….... pure to hit for both feel and playability and also great in looks.

I have found them more forgiving then say 695’s! But a tad less workable.

Rubbish, but quite cheap these days if you are buying them from the US.

Callaway is the most over-hyped brand on the market by far. Titleist, Taylor Made, Cleveland & Mizuno are much better gear.

Unless you like mass-produced shite that will be out-dated within 6 months (which Callaway have always done and always will). Good at marketing – so so with club construction.

Somehow I doubt Chachi will be thrilled with the comparison.

Admin – you are a squid!

have had bugger problems with the apparent ‘so-so’ club construction. and even the ones i’ve had have been piss weak little things. last one was i had back was that the backing plate in an X-12 had come loose. araldite to the rescue.

had WAY more stuff back from the likes of Acushnet and Mizuno. Both of which had problems with their carbon top stuff. Not a single problem yet with Callaway’s carbon body drivers.

not trying to be rude, but you kinda sound like me before we were given a callaway account. i was pretty bitter towards them at that stage too

Bye bye sms316…....

To be honest – not sure I would even wnat a Callaway account if it was offered. Can’t see myself wanting to keep a minimum of $30K on the floor when they change their stock so often.

Bye bye sms316…….

Thanks goodness for that.

At least sms316 was entertaining….

Still here boys!

There is a bit of a myth about this workablity thing. You can work a cav back just as well as a blade, Working the ball is all about the path and face angle you hit the ball, and trust me the differents between a snap hook and a draw is only about 2degs at impact. Where the cav back works is on off center hits.Same with forged irons when people say the can work a forge iron better because of the softer face, Well I tell you what! they must have lighting hands because that ball is only in contact with that face for a m/second.
