I recall some posts about this, but cant seem to find any with this new search facility who do you typically use to send drivers? since Aus Post has the length restriction, was hoping anyone can throw up some names cheers

Greyhoundfreight is pretty good to most major centres.

Look for an LPO (Licensed Post Office), I have one near me in Sydney who’ll take up to 120cm which covers a driver. Alternatively, I found these guys http://www.smartsend.com.au but I don’t think they offer insurance. PT

Pack and send are couriers that are reasonable. I havent sent a club with them but i have dealt with them before and they were ok. www.packandsend.com.au (i think)...chris

If one post office knocks it back, take it to another. I found that major PO’s accept them more often, or distribution centres. For instance, I’ve sent 2 through the Parramatta PO – first time no questions asked, 2nd time they said they couldn’t do it so I told them I had done it before no problems. The lady went out the back to ask the guys and she accepted it. I had a previous experience to fall back on, but a little white lie might get you over the line too ;)

My PO takes, but when it didn’t I also used Greyhound.

i managed to end up sending a driver through aus post. Dont know if theyve changed policy, but they said anything up to 120cm is fine..

My post office wont let me get away with anything over the 1060? length limit which can even make some hybrids a bit difficult. I used Toll Priority 3kg Pre paid labels. Even though you have to buy 10 at a time $13.50 for overnight to almost anywhere in Australia is unbelievable.

I have ad knockbacks too, I just read the policy on the website and it still says 105cm, I asked why, they said the crates in the truck are only 100cm, I asked what numbskull only builds a crate 100cm. I told them they would lose 100,000 a year in trade from fishing peope and golf realted buisness. I emailed Aus post a few times comlaining about it, I even wote the general manager a letter saying Australia post is a service for the community and that should abide by what the community needs. Still no luck, yet I see people sending stuff through Aus post all of the time. My post ffice people are nerdy and dont like to break rules. I havent found a cheap courier yet, I live in Perth and to send stuff over east has become a nightmare!!
so John (Daly) how did you make a 14?....well i missed the putt ior a 13 dickhead |

Strange rules for Australia Post. My local Post Office readily accepted my driver to post after one at a major shopping centre said it was too long. Identical parcel with 2 different results. Try another post office.

I just bought a club of ebay and was quoted $35 dollars to post from SA to Brisbane? i’ve done some research on couriers to see the extimate cost and havent found any to be more then $25. They all accept up to 3kg for that price and size. Must tell the seller to try Aus Post or different courier because $35 is highway robbery :)

why did you buy it if you thought the postage cost was too high? You need to complain before you buy, not after.

My local PO accepted the long parcels for a very long time, then suddenly stopped. The boss there told me that Aust Post own a large chunk of Australian Air Express and obviously want us punters to use the more expensive service!
