Srixon Irons - What should I Choose?

I am trying to decide which iron set I have demo’d both the older I-403’s and I-506’s and felt comfortable with both I have also seen a set of I-601’s on the market. Does anyone know the major differences between the performance you would get particularly between the 506 or 601 as the 403 were very similar in performance to the 506’s. Any help would be great as I am trying to determine if the 601’s are better but if anyone can tell me if these are forged that would also help as I know the 506’s are and these do hit nice and soft.

Please don’t be offended, but the content of your post gives a clear picture of where you are in your golfing journey, and that is not a place where a $1200 set of irons is a sensible investment. The three products you mention are very, very different. If you dont discern significant difference hitting them side by side, then in performance terms it doesnt much matter which you buy. Which leaves value – making the superceded 403 at half the price of the others as a clear winner. Or… if you are emotionally drawn to Srixon then why not buy a Tour Special package at around 400 bucks. They will serve you well. Then spend some of what you save on lessons, and upgrade later in your development?

Make sure when you buy your new clubs, you are fit for lenght, lie angle, swingweight, grip size and the correct shaft for your swing. Because if you don’t you will be just pissing your money away. Make sure your clubs fit you and your swing. Before you buy some new sticks get a copy of the search for the perfect golf club By Tom Wishon. Great read when you are looking for a new set of stick it will save you a lot of money in the long run.
