Hi, I have a mate (no seriously i do) who wants to get a set of clubs for the few rounds of golf he plays each year. I have another mate currently in China who has offered to get a set over there.

Problem is that the guy needing the clubs is six foot four, and doesnt really have a grooved in swing. He went to a pro who suggested 39.5 inch shaft & 3 degree change to lie angle.

Is he better getting hold of a set here & having shafts attended to ?

Can anyone offer any advice ? – please ?

If they are China cheapies I would seriously not be bothered as you would need to get them all bent right anyway.

If they are OEMs that can be bent, maybe worth a small consider….again if they are investment cast efforts and the steel is an iffy effort they might just go Ping in the wrong sense of the word.

For piece of mind local would be the safer route.

is your friend willing to get fitted for a set. if hes that tall, hes probably going to need a few degrees up and 1 inch over. but to be sure he really needs a clubfitter to sort him out.
