The festive season is now behind us and I know that some ISGers had to get some golf equipment under the tree.

So, who got what and is it any good?

I bought myself 2 pressies… smile.gif
One way b4 Christmas, a TM200 4wood c/w S90 rifle, and the other a day b4 Christmas, a Nike 58 to go with the 53.
Took me a couple of game to get used to the 4 wood, and now, it’s a real killer…dropped the 2 iron out of the bag for the mean time. The 58` is great for bunker, lob, pitch, ¾ and full shots. I still haven’t got used to the chip and run yet…comes out hot all the time…same problem I had with the 53` when I first got it.
Jean bought me an Oakley M-frame with the new fire lens…I think…not too sure…too bad I have to wear glasses to play…neve thought about contacts…prob wont…

I bought myself a 58 Oil Can today...tried it out today...absolutely awesome!

Also got a Taylor Made brollie, been stuck in the rain lately with no brollie so no fun there!

Just gotta complete the set with the Ping Hoofer and a TM driver...

I got a new glove. Cos dicked if I know where I put my old one.

I'm ordering a set of those nice new Dynacraft blades this week, and I got most of my drivers reshafted with TX90 shafts. Apart from that I got a new "HO, The Joker" kneeboard... how that relates to golf im not sure yet smile.gif

Hope everyone had a safe one!

Cheers

Ben

Got some Honma blades from Japan about a week ago...

biggrin.gif I got some Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro irons with rifle shafts. These were made by a custom club fitter. And after 5 sets of clubs by far the best fitting experience and set of clubs I have owned. An that includes a set of Callaway Big Bertha irons.

I am convinced custom club fitting is the way to go, for value and quality this is the way to go, otherwise you have to compromise on what the factory churns out. And let's face it, no 2 golfers have the same swing.

When I went in to pick up my clubs, in the past it has been, here they are enjoy them. This time, the club maker made me hit every iron form 3 down to Lob wedge checking the lie angles and tweeking every club in the "lie & loft machine" so they were spot on. Near enough was not good enough. Result, first time out on a tough course wiith my new clubs I shoot within 1 shot of my handicap.

i buy my own chrissie gifts but after the rac 54, nike 56, hogan 52, whitehot #1, precept 310ls...

tonite i went and got myself a nice 60 deg RAC to match the 54 for my new years gift...a 'scottish' tradition in my family that i somehow don't think is scottish at all, just a gift grab by mum biggrin.gif

somebody please stop me!...there must be therapy available somehwere for this affliction...

Hmmmm...haven't got any new clubs in a few months now.
Tryin' to get some consistency with those I've got.
Latest addition would be a doz Dunlop Loco balls.

Where do you go kneeboarding down your way Ben? Do you wake as well?

Heya Hindo,

I was at the Murray over christmas near Corowa. I've started to wake a bit but I'm more of a knee boarder. My wifes cusins ski in the moomba ski team so I'm picking up my waking from them smile.gif Down here tho I ski at Eildon, I'm out there as much as the weather permits smile.gif Usually take off on Fridays after work for a few hours and sunday arvos.

You're a skiier youself?

Cheers

Ben

Nice, Ben.

I have an aunty who lives in Eildon and went skiing with them quite a few years back. Skiied again over Christmas for the first time since then.

Ahh, the Moomba ski team. Those were the days. I used to love watching them.

Just bought myself a nike 60 degree wedge. Absolutely loving it. nuff said

Chistmas present to myself was a new Nicket gunmetal 52 sand wegde to go with the 56 I bought for the birthday. biggrin.gif

5 Games played in 2 weeks -2 at Brisbane , 1 Brookwater and 1 Lakelands and 1 memebers comp at Keperra. laugh.gif

Okay, so did anybody actually get any golf stuff they did not buy themselves?

i got a range finder.

it looks like a little telescope with a distance marker on the lens.

good idea... but it don't work.

someone has probably made a lot of money out of that one.

Yeah, I got a range finder for Christmas as well. I have seen them before. A load of crap.

Now I wish I had got a new driver, or a new wedge, or a box of balls...

marcus ,
what is it like being a keperra member ? - have considered joining but as they have 1500 members have heard it is almost impossible to get a comp game - either way it is without a doubt one of the best courses in brissie

Damo

I think it is a great course. Having 3 nines played as 3 courses means that they can get 350 people through on a Saturday.

I'm lucky because one of the guys who I play with lives close to the course so he can get out there on a Friday at put our names down. Before that I never a had a problem finding a single spot. You may have to wait until the middle of the week but you will always get on.

As with most clubs it may have 1500 memebers but not all of them are Saturday playing memebers

Just got home from Golfworks... went out and bought myself a new Vokey oilcan 52° . cant wait to hit it...getting up early tomorrow and taking it for a bash biggrin.gif

I got a UST ACCURA 65 shaft in x flex and it has addes several yards/meters to my drives. biggrin.gif

I also got a scotty cameron JAT putter which I dont particularly like. sad.gif

Hmm…I quite like the look of the JAT….and the center shafted SC….
I know guys….hypocritical…but a club ho has to do what a club ho does...

Hey MP33, whats that Accura X Flex been measured at?

7.5?

Mates got one in his R510, only a S Flex and its measures @ 6.5
