Proline Clubs

Hi Guys, Just come across this forum whilst looking for info on some clubs I bought 6 monaths ago. I am by no means a skilled golfer, so I asked my local sports shop to get me a set of clubs and bag. After asking me how much I want to spend and how much I play etc he said he would ring his rep and find a suitable set. Anyway they turned up and I was pretty happy with how they looked and took them out for a swing. They went allright except for my traditional slice off the tee. Only played 9. The second round of 9 the following week before starting I noticed on my driver the paint on the top edge of the face along about 30mm had started to ripple so kept an eye on it and watch it progressivly turn into a crack and end up opening right up. Also started cracking on the bottom. Anyway long story shorter they replaced it with the same. Now I’ve just handed back my 4th one with the same problem. I have now got a different model (5th) club but havent been out yet to break/try it out. The clubs are all Proline and the driver was an RX6 (4 of) and now an Impreza II. Are these any good or just cheap clubs? I paid just under $900 for clubs, bag and buggy.

Any insight into this band and clubs would be great. Thanks

There are a zillion people on here more suited to answer this than me.

But for $900 this sounds really bad. A bad deal in general and to have 4 (now 5) failed clubs makes me wonder if there aren’t some really poor manufacturing process in place. The concern with this is the problems you have run into as well as consistency of build across the set. This could impact different clubs differently – I.e your 8 iron may perform completely differently to your 7 iron etc…

Not trying to be to negative here, others will have a better view on this I’m sure.

Sorry mate, you’ve been had.

$480 would be a fair price at that market niche, and there are better options in that range. Live and learn.

Agreed.

Proline are low end clubs and are of generally poor quality. $900 is far too much to pay.
