Selling only callaway - titleist - adams - taylormade in his feedback would assume he is importing everything as these company's have a strict compliance with internet selling.

Good luck with a warranty claim if anything goes wrong...and yes it can happen.

PM if you want a recommendation on where to shop for a comparable set.

Callaway only warrant place of purchase these days ? Warranties I thought were world wide, it's easy to lose a receipt these days afterall wink.gif

Nippon shafts are ok, as for getting them bent, not sure with those sort of Callys.

I think at $989 + delivery you can probably bring them in yourself for cheaper. I wonder when the 1 cent auction part he mentions in his advert kicks in ? laugh.gif

its probably one of the biggest arguments that retail stores have against international online sales. the OEM's will not touch equipment that is imported and you will have to deal with the country you bought it from to get any warranty claims.

not sure, but they might not even want to bend them, if you were to try and go through callaway golf south pacific. they don't look bore thru so you could probably bend them with any good fitter

sigs are back – YAY

if that is a generalisation it is wrong, they can't expect someone buying a club overseas whilst on holiday to have to take it back there... if the clubs are legit then I am sure the OEMS will honour it although some might need some pressure from the parent in the US.

Can't see how that affects the local retailer though, they would simply send it back to the Aussie distributor surely ?

Its a fallacy.

I bought a brand new (superseeded) r510 driver from rockbottomgolf a couple of years ago which, after 1 round, the face caved in. I looked on the TM website, rang them up and they said to take it to the local House of Golf or Drummond store to be repaired. So I did. And two weeks later they replaced it with a brand new current model R5 driver, and even gave me back the old shaft from the r510.

You were one of the lucky ones.
Last week we had a guy in here who migrated from the UK with his Mizunos. He bought them on a whim without a proper fitting & they were 4º too upright for his 5' 5" height. Sadly Mizuno Australia would not accept his irons for a lie adjustment as they were a foreign model. Even when he offered them a no-responsibility-for-breakage assurance they still said no. #!$@s.

You might find the landscape has changed in a couple of years - though practice varies from company to company.

As well as country of origin several companies now have a policy of refusing to warrant secondhand clubs. And choose to define new as "purchased from an authorised stockist". So if that "brand new still in factory packaging" driver did not reach the internet seller you buy from through the company's distribution network, it is a secondhand club and not covered by warranty.
