Footjoy - which model?

I'm in the market for a new pair of kicks after patching up my not-so-trusty Adidas AD Comforts one too many times. They're not a bad shoe, pretty comfortable but after 12 months of weekly golf I've now had to glue 4 parts of the sole back on, and the leather around the the lace holes is splitting in 2 places.

I'd like to try a pair of Footjoys as they seem to get pretty good raps in general. I was looking at the LT Series, which are apparently a more lightweight/thinner shoe and thought this might be a good thing living in QLD. I'm not terribly sold on the look of them, but they seem to be the right price ($150 - $170) and if they perform, I could put up with their appearance.

However I also really like the look of the DryJoys and was wondering if they're worth the extra ~$100 over the LTs? Has anyone tried both models? Or is there anything else I should be looking at?

Love the dryjoys - have always used them.

Buy them in the USA for $100 a pair delivered.

I have those LT's - however I didn't pay anywhere near $215 for them...

Good shoes smile.gif

I have the DryJoy PRO, and they are sweet.

if money is no issue get the classics, they are awesome!

log on to www.golfshoesonly.com and check out the range of footjoys available in the USA. last thursday i purchased a pair of blemished(slight imperfection) classics tours and they arrived here in sydney today. they cost me $247aus delivered, they retail for about $500 in oz and the pair i got arent available here. blemishes arent available in a models and sizes but if they have what you are after you can get some awesome shoes at a great price

Thanks for the feedback all smile.gif

Virge, I've googled around and found a few US online retailers whose prices are a LOT less than what the AUS shops are selling the same model for, but nothing as low as $100 for DJs. Are you willing to divulge your sources?

Hmmm not sure I could stretch the budget to a pair of Classics Moe - in fact I'm not ever going to try a pair on, just in case I want to buy them biggrin.gif

Thanks for the link bradharro - just OOI, what was the extent of the blemish on the Classics that they have for the reduced price?

Mate im still trying to find the blemish, they are as good as brand new.

I little off-topic, but can someone point me in the right direction where to buy some Adidas Golf shoes over the web?

If you want to buy the Premier Dry Classics i can sell them to you for $340. That includes postage. There is and ad for them in the classifieds. PM me for more details.

hmmm.. anyone here use the Contour series? or is that out of date?
i've been using them for well...a long time...3 pairs over the past 3 years..
i have problematic feet and they've been comfy since day one smile.gif
cheap too with a 2 yr manufacturer's warranty.
cheers!

Gel Fusion 2s are superb - I paid $A300, but note that a couple of online US sites have them on closeout for $US129.

I got the DryJoy PRO's for around A$130 shipped when I bought two pairs from a random US ebay shop last year. They're excellent. Very stable, light enough to walk 36 in a day and totally waterproof.

I also have contours and find tem extremely comfortable. I have tried all the major shoe brands and will only buy footjoy from now on.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

I ended up going for a pair of DryJoys PRO which I picked up from the Pro shop at my club for $220 (RRP $280).

The cheapest I found online (for the CURRENT model) was USD $130 (at Golf Shoes Only) and it was going to be another USD $40 to ship them on top of that (USD $170 = ~ AUD $200) so I'm happy with what I paid. Plus if there's ever a problem I don't have to worry about getting them back to the US.

I also tried 3 Balls but they appeared to have limited sizing and my size wasn't available.

I did find the DryJoys cheaper than USD $130, but they were either closeouts of the previous model or factory blems.

Wore them for their first round today and they seem to be very comfortable indeed, with a lot more cushioning and support than the AD Comforts.

My feet feel a little bit more sore in general post round, but I guess that's just part of the wearing-in process. I'm playing again tomorrow and I'm sure they will start to to feel softer and well molded to my foot by the end of the round.

Hi , I have the LTs great shoes ,played in port douglas ,very comfortable.

Puma Goretex golf shoes (ones that Ogivly wears) on sale at House of Golf in Melbourne for $168, got myself a pair today. Were $250.. Very comfy.. HOG and Drummonds are clearing out stock before June 30 (tax time), haggle with them on current range or get massive discounts on discontinued lines.
