Lets Hear Your Career Shot
Did anyone see Adam Scott's 2nd shot into the 18th at the
Australian PGA. If you didnt he was in the trees on the right off
the fairway, anyway he hit a low SNAP cut that just missed the
water and made its way onto the green. I think this was a
incredible shot. But the comentaters didn't seem to replay it
or go on about it. I thought that the shot deserved to be
replayed again. It was as good as Allan Shearer's shot at
goal in last nights game (Newcastle vs Everton).
MY CAREER SHOT

poontang is dead varmint poontang, I think."

I want to hear your storys, not pro's shots, you have seen on tv. Everyone is capable of pulling off a career shot, this is a cool place to talk bout them. Muz "Cinderella boy, outta nowhere, a former greenskeeper now about to become the master's champion."

Hi Muza,
It was 147m 2nd hole, left to right winds (the winds get stronger
with every beer I have And almost got another one a few holes later at the next par 3...

Yer I was fortunate enough to be watching adam scott hit that tremendous shot on the last. I too thought it deserved the attention of the commentators.

Hi Jason,
Thats what i like to hear, well done on a great shot. hear from you soon Muz

mine would have to be missing a 1 foot putt yesterday, pure class
all the way!
|
|
You do the 'Baddeley' did ya hind0?
|
|
nah RV, only one putted.

Unfortunately, like Muza I haven't had an ace yet. But I can still live in hope. My father in law got his first (and only) hole in one after playing golf for over 60 years! I would much prefer to get one while playing with other people, rather than in a practice round by myself, but then...any hole in one will do at this stage. It really is pot luck. A local club pro hadn't had one in over 25 years of golf. His wife took the game up and got one in her first week.

Hi Jason,
Yep thanks Muza, it seems that it is all the crap golfers like me
who get the flukey holes-in-one and not the good players who play
each week...ahh well, no-one can take it from me and I am not
giving it back! J

i only have one career shot but it was a perfect hole-in-one.
Sadly, it wasn't on a real golf course but rather a
pitch&putt, but hey, they still count right?
anyways it was the 10th hole and only 70 yards - hit a 9 iron
(because that's all i had at the time) and it was a perfect
arc. Flew right at the hole, hit the flag stick and dropped
straight in! Just like a basketball swish

My carreer shot would have to be on the 7th at Jindalee, playing with the Pro I took a 9 iron instead of sandie and holed out, the pro 2 putted for birdie and I Eagled it! its a par 4 and i were 50m out of the tee.

My career shot would have to be on Amstels Park Course 18th hole. Coming down the last with 38 points already in the bank, I hit driver to around 155 meters out in the light rough. Playing with the President i suggested a par and 3 points might be good enough to win, I hit 5 iron that never looked like doing anything else but going in, hit the green, bounced, rolled and disapeared for a 2 for 5. About an hour later another member looked at me in the bar and remarked that 'He looks as happy as a pig in sh*t' I was! I have yet to have a hole in one, I have put 2 or 3 within a hair and one in on the full that bounced out but my Dad has played 5 games in his life and made an ace on a 109 meter par 3 hitting a 3 iron. He makes me sick! Also in a match I hit the pin on a par 5 with a 3 iron 2nd shot, it bounced about a foot away, almost an Albatross!

My career shot took place during a pennant match for my home club at the time, McLaren Vale. We were playin the first round at willunga, where i was also a member. I was playin at number 1, and being 3 down with 5 to go it wasnt looking good. It was looking as tho the game was going to come down to my match, so i knew i had to lift. Fortunately for me my opponent developed the yips from 3 feet, and allowed me to par in and finish square after 18. The first playoff hole(actual 16th hole) is 140 m par 3, with the pin located on the back tier so playin about 145m. i was first to go and hit 6 iron as my 7 iron was in for repairs, and flagged it to a foot with aboout 15+ ppl as a gallery. Our team won 4-3 that day!!!!!!!

that's the wya Murken!! Willunga weren't pleased with ya were they!!! My career shot would have to have come at the par 5 7th hole at the much discussed Links Lady Bay course, situated an hour or so out of Adelaide. The hole was playing into the wind, and after a solid drive to the left side of the fairway, almost in line with the lake, i had to decide whether to go at the green or not. into the teeth of the always howling breeze down there, i pulled out the driver and had awhack at it off the deck. A perfect, boring, low flighted shot to the left side pin, over the water's edge, landing just on the left side of the green, checking up a tad 9with driver) before taking the left to right slope and nestling about a foot and a half away. We started on the back nine, and i had my best round ever going there (1 under with 3 to go), so this eagle was to be well needed. (& deserved). Counting my chickens b4 they hatch as i do many a time on the course), i proceeded to miss the putt, and settle?? for a birdie. I then proceeded to pull the 3 wood out of the bag (much less expensive than the putter) and hurl it into the nearby lake. Par, bogey later and i still had completed my best round at LLB.

My carear shot was probably a putt I had a tricky 60 foot put that had to be hit up a tier then down one and then up one again with a right to left break on the first tier and left to right all the way after wards. I had to hole it to kep the match going in our team match. I bagged the putt to keep the match going, put lost the match(halved in birdies) on the next the carear shot(although mot my best, just good because of the cercumstances) was probably in a junior event. I needed to make birdie down the last(410 yards/380 mtrs) to tie the learder in the clubhouse I RIPPED MY DRIVE INTO A STEADY WIND, some 240 yards or so off the tee leaving me on a severe downhill lie, 165 to the pin, with a hollow at the front and two nast pot bunker(links course) on the right side of the green. I selected a 5 iron and swung very hard at the ball, striking it pure and the ball set off low and right at the stick and rose up into the air, landing 10 feet short of the hole taking a couple of skips and spinning back a couple of inches into the cup to win the game Ive had 1 hole in one and tonnes of eagles best shot ive ever hit was a 3 wood of the 3rd tee at saltburn(256 yards par 4) roasted to the front edge in the air and ran off the back the shot was just perfectly struck and played just as i wanted

My career shot was also a putt. In a teams match play event last
year my team was down 4-3 with my game the only one left on the
course. I was up by one with the last hole to play. I had a 12m
uphill putt which I needed down in 2 to halve the hole and take
the victory. There were about 30 people watching at the time. My
first putt finished about 6cm short of the hole and I tapped in
for the win. I think lining up that putt was the most nervous
I've ever been. It was a great feeling though

Have had 2 shots that live in my memory. The first was a hole in one at Emerald (QLD). Unfortunately for me I got it the day before the monthly medal while playing socially with my father. The other was a 100m shot from in the trees accross a gully one bounce and in the cup for eagle. Haven't even looked close since.
