Hi guys,

I buy alot of stuff from the USA.

I am looking at buying some of these new Grafalloy Epic shafts for drivers and selling them here in OZ for $230-250 each (just waiting on freight quotes).

My question is and the reason for my post is should I bring in only the .335 size tip or are there alot of guys that have/are using .350 tip shafts?

Any interest or info appreciated.

cheers
Michael

Ben should be able to help you. wink.gif

No worries.
But it seems in Oz we get 'shafted' pardon the pun, when it comes to what we pay for our golf gear here.
That is why I am contemplating getting a whole heap sent from the states.

Hmmmm OK.

Why don't we start again.

You are a club builder and a grafalloy distributor?

So you will sell these shafts I gather?

I don't really care where I buy them from, just like to get my gear at a reasonable and 'globally' comparative price.

So if you can find the time then I would appreciate a price on the shaft(s). Post here or pm me.
cheers

I am not sharing my popcorn with the main act!

Mickeyboy. There are many reasons (which I don't have time to go into now although larger market share springs to mind) why prices in Australia are marginally higher than in the USA. If you can find enough buyers who are willing to buy from you without testing the product & then will pay to have the shafts installed cheaper (or do it themselves) than they can buy them fitted & installed from a local builder then good luck to you.

Awwww Bugger it. I became the main act...
Where's my friggin seat? It's dark in here...

Somehow I think you may not even be the supporting act.

But anyway to get back to it all and answer some of your statements:
*Prices 'marginally' higher in Australia, load of crock really, but I am sure it has been discussed here many a time. Support local businesses maybe? Somehow I think not when they are all overseas based, owned and operated. Support the little local club builder - why? So he can make the corporates their money and then make his measly little $40 or $50.
*Golfers buying gear without testing or trying it out first. Happens all the time. Maybe speak to the hundreds of thousands of people that have pre-ordered clubs before there release (A few on here that have the Cally FT-i). That's half the fun of golf, the new stuff coming out claiming to be better and better, you try you like or you don't, always blame the equipment, never the swing!
*I would suggest to those that want a product to go and test it out at the golf retailer or better still, at the ever growing number of amatuer club builders (pretending to be professional) springing up everywhere.

So, that's my take. I didn't come here to be rude or offend anyone. But I have found some posters here to have some sort of 'boys club' mentality. A shame really as most of the forums around seem to offer insight. What I am about is getting the latest and maybe greatest gear at good prices by using the everyday golfer's buying power - strength in numbers. If you or others don't care for it so be it - no skin off my nose.
cheers

Welcome back VJ, its been lonely without you here.

Don't you just love that.

The newbie dickhead that blows into the forum and rolls out the line "

I didn't come here to be rude or offend anyone

" right after doing exactly that.

Assuming of course that it is a newbie dickhead and not a VJ dickhead.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

I'm not here to argue with you & clearly you feel strongly about this. Personally. I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, now using it as a car rag with parallel importing in several markets. So to reiterate my last post statement.

If you can find enough buyers who are willing to buy from you without testing the product & then will pay to have the shafts installed cheaper (or do it themselves) than they can buy them fitted & installed from a local builder then

good luck to you

.

Now you can go back to phishing for customers. cool.gif
Just let them know it's $50 for me to install it. ohmy.gif

You support local busines because local business supports you. Yes, you can make some reasonable savings by importing yourself, but how good will those savings be if the product is not as described or defective in some way. Do you think the corporates get any less money when you buy overseas?

*Golfers buying gear without testing or trying it out first. Happens all the time. That's half the fun of golf, the new stuff coming out claiming to be better and better, you try you like or you don't, always blame the equipment, never the swing!

Again how much money are you saving if the expensive imported shaft turns out to be all wrong for you?

*I would suggest to those that want a product to go and test it out at the golf retailer or better still, at the ever growing number of amatuer club builders (pretending to be professional) springing up everywhere.

Now there's a good idea. rolleyes.gif Let's use the expertise of those amateur club builders (the big pretenders) and then buy elsewhere. Then we can get on a internet forum and bag them for their high prices. You d!ckhead.

You may not have meant it, but you are rude and offensive. You also clearly have no idea.

If you don't like this forum, then bugger off. No skin off my nose.

Ben, did these shafts arrive?

If so, what is your conclusion?

Still waiting, mid April now apparently. grrrrr!

Seems it's not what you know it's who you know!

I got my shipment last week. All .335 tip Stiff flex (all that was in stock).

These shafts are flying out the doors in the US and why not - Diamana smoothness at a third of the price! Nice kick, very smooth, slightly higher ball flight than I am accustomed too. No numbers as I haven't had mine on an LM and doubt that I will, but you never know as curiousity always gets the better of me. My past experience tells me I don't need a machine to tell me if it is good or not. Some shafts that I have played with really good results in the real world gave bad LM numbers in the past.

And all sold bar two! Will be getting some 75+ gram tour only Epic's very soon too!

cheers

Micky,

good to hear some feedback. I could have had these a fair while ago but I chose not to as I deal directly with TT over here and I aint in the lawn mowing business smile.gif
