There have been lots of rumors on boards in the states about Ernie signing with a new equipment company, he has been linked with Nike and Callaway, here is a story in the South African Golf Digest that he has signed with Callaway:

I also believe that he has been taken of the player profiles etc on Titleist website.

I hope that maybe that use him to get the Hogan brand up and running agian, but i doubt it.

Try this link (the other wouldn't work for me):

Thanks mate, sorry about the dud link

All mention and logo relating to Titleist, Footjoy etc. have been removed from his website.

Poor ernie

Who knows what this news will do to Sven.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

I believed he moved to Callaway so he could play the fusion irons, based soley on the advice from Sven.

I hope Ernie doesn't try to bend them.

It's OK, ll is still in balance in the universe. I have just ditched my fusion irons for a set pf TaylorMade R7 TP's...

Seriously though, i think EE will do well with Callaway. It's time he shook things up anyway, he's been going a little stagnant lately.

If you read Bombsquad Golf where there was speculation he would join all sorts of companies (and of course they are "in the know" anyway) laugh.gif there is a suggestion that he may use Hogan irons. Titleist do seem to have a policy of not paying huge amounts of money to keep players and I read one thing where his contract was up at the end of 2007 and Callaway bought it out.

I think it is a poor move but then again I dislike Callaway clubs.

The way he has played the last year or two he could do with some game improvement clubs.

Not really fair comment. He has been recovering from injury and I think he has won twice since Dec 2006. I look forward to seeing the Big Easy at the top of the leader board during the majors again this year.

Poor ernie

What do you mean?? I hear those Fusions are excellent!!

If the lefty can win with callaway EE is fine

Dear Ernie,

I hear you're on the lookout for new equipment. I recommend you try the Cleveland VAS irons. They really helped my game.

Regards in golf,

Corey Pavin

1995 US Open Champion

ernie won his first 2 events with titleist clubs and a second i think.

the new equipment might just give him the spark to turn things around. also the X-Forged, which are on the MUST BUY list for me, would be a good change. Coming from blades myself, they look SCHMICK!

sigs are back – YAY

He shoulda gone to PING.

They do look the shizzle. Must be what Beem was pimping at Riviera. Nice one-eighty on everything all their other irons tried to do. Let's fill the gap in our line-up so we can sign players like Ernie, blow millions more on player endorsements and turn that into market share. At least now Cambo might start playing better.

hey they helped me from 22 to 13 in a 5 years...i swear by callaway gear while others dont...but i do like the sq sumo...just hit it the other day and I couldnt miss fairway...everything went straight...no fade no draw just a dead straight knuckle ball 240 on the button...couldnt work the ball at all but I dont care I want short grass everytime

EE will do well with callaway i'm sure...

What if they give him the chipping yips Sven?

And how can Ernie be sure his Callaways were made at Callaway and not down some back alley in Shanghai?

well if hes gotn that he could use cougars from a garage sale and he would still be the same...

I think any pro golfer could use any equipment they like...if he went and tested some TM gear and he loved it his manager would be on the horn to TM saying what deal can we do...Yeah I'm sure manafacturers approach players but i think player managers and the players themselves have the greater say

Ability didn't come into it ?

Just watching the JW Claqssic on Fox & the commentators made this statement..."It lloks like Els is hitting a 4 iron, that would be the Titliest 4 iron in the Callaway bag".

Also has Callaway clothing on...does this mean he hasn't come to terms with the clubs he is going to use or is he going to follow the Norman/Woods lead & not actually play his sponsors actual clubs?

"I hate the lob wedge club"
