Looking for a good club fitter in the Melbourne metropolitan area to replace my graphite shafts with some stiff iron ones (I'm a hitter so I need stiff shafts). Contemplating TT Dynamic Gold or Rifle Tour flighted shafts, but I am open to any suggestions. Thanks

Didn't Willow recommend anyone? Go see Ben in Camberwell
Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US |

Yep...all hitters need stiff shafts...right And you can't get graphite in stiff? If you want a fitter let him do his job and recommend the shaft to you, if you have already made the decision go see any golf shop to do it for you.
down and out…did ya get that? |

Novice, being a hitter has very little to do with what flex shaft you require. Go and see Ben. He'll set you straight. Mick

Parts by Ben - labour by vman. I like making them myself. But, I
am sure that Ben would have done almost as good a job.
Agreed.
John is a top bloke but when it comes to fitting (especially of shafts), Ben is your man. Mick

This is sort of on topic. What is the ballpark cost figure to get:
(a) current clubs fitted? I tried searching the forums but get 1000+ results and none obviously leading to an answer.

tough to judge...would depend on what clubs you were gonna get made...

Too many variables, LFH. Cost and quality of components can vary considerably.
It depends what needs doing. Loft & lie adjustments and changes to shaft length can be done relatively cheaply. If new shafts are required, the fitted cost could be between $20 and $70+ a club, depending on the shaft, although graphite wood shafts can get up to $500 and beyond.
A properly fitted set of irons could cost you between $500 and $2000+ depending on the quality of components and workmanship. For around $500-600 you would expect to get a set of cheaper quality clone clubheads fitted with reasonable quality shafts and maybe be put through a simple fitting session. For around $1500-2000 you should reasonably expect a very good fitting session and get high quality component heads such as Nakashima or Wishon with top quality shafts such as DG, DG Black, Rifle, ProjectX, etc. No matter what the price range, you should expect that the clubs be properly swingweight or MOI matched, measured for length, fitted for flex with proper loft & lie adjustments. Cheers, vman. If I save my pennies, I should be able to get whatever is appropriate for me for around $2K or less. I was getting the feeling it was significantly more than that.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Looks like Ben is the man, booked in for a fitting on Saturday.
Will let you know what wickedly awesome shafts I end up getting,
assuming I can talk my wife into approving the transaction.
PS. Thanks Mick for the address details.
