Refinished Pro V1's

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts or experiences with the above? A friend gave me a few & they seem as good as the originals.

They come with what seems a satisfaction gaurantee...and cost about $80 AUD for three dozen delivered to Australia.

What do you think?

Cheers

I live near a course with a big water trap and often find Titleist balls. After a wash in white king, and if they have no blemishes.I often use them for a few rounds. No different to a new ball as far as I am concerned. These would be the same as those that your friend gave you. Certainly a cheap alternative to buying new ones.

I've got a few dozen from the US in the past, and found them pretty good most of the time. Some scuffed up very quickly, others were just like a new ball wear wise.

Overall they were good value

I saw some AAA+ ProV on sale in the Iseek shop. I'm sure you won't have any trouble in the bona fides of the good people here to worry about their quality or authenticity.

My local pro got in a few dozen of the refinished variety early 2006. These were the "stripped, re-painted and re-labelled" variety that were then marketed as good as new, with the usual small print!

After a few of our better golfers had tried them out, we got together and discussed them. We all found that the balls numbered "1" were fine and performed as expected. Strangely, we all had weird experiences with balls numbered "2"! These incidences included wobbling through the air (snake-like), dropping out of the sky at an alarming rate and acting like lawn bowls on the greens! All very strange and the distributor could offer no explanation other than "possibly a bad batch"!

Consequently, all remaining stock were returned and our pro went back to stocking just new whilst I bought in "Mint" or "Premium" balls from reputable Ebay sellers for those on a budget.

They may have improved since then, but we aren't game to find out!
