I don't know what those irons are - but they are NOT Nike blades.

Check out the lead on the Driver . . .

I was thinking the same thing. I have a set of Nike blades and they definitely don't look like those in the picture. Maybe it's just the lighting, but the 9-iron just seems to bulge too much and the others look like there is a ridge or shelf of some form.

aren't they and haven't they always been mizuno mp33's rebadged?

The muscleback is too big for a Mizuno 33 or 37.

I am thinking PRGR or Muira blades or some whizz bang custom grind... but it aint Nike

The musclebacks are much higher on Tiger's.

They're Nike's - custom-made for one customer.

Tiger never used MP33's.
If I remember rightly he did use a mixed set of 14's and 29's before he went to Titleist though.
His Titleists never really looked anything like the Mizunos to me and his Nikes look different again. Only the ridge of the muscle looks similar but then many have a similar shape there as there isn't really much that you can do with it.
According to an article in one of the magazines I read a few years ago Tiger has a lot of input with Tom Stites, one of the great designers, into the design of his clubs and the raw forgings are unique and made specifically for Nike.

Veefore,
Do you know this for a fact? A good pro mate of mine who worked with Butch Harmon for a while when he was in the states, has told me that Tiger definitely was using, at one stage, a set of customised MP33's with the Nike logo stamped on them. Believe me when I tell you this guy is "well connected". wink.gif

Nope, I don't know it for a fact. But Tiger using MP33's doesn't add up. He never used them before going to Nike because he preferred a different, older model and he had one of the best designers in golf hand grinding raw forgings that were made specifically for him. It just doesn't make sense that he (Tom Stites) would then contact an opposition company that he has no financial arrangement with and ask them to send him raw blanks so that he could modify them and stamp his companies logo on them.

That's the same mail I got although mine was just 19th hole talk and nothing official.

I've had a chat to this with one of Tom Stites best mates, they are pure custom heads designed from scratch with Tom and Tiger. Every since Tiger went to Titleist he's had custom heads. The heads he has now have a higher COG than his old titleist blades.

Higher COG...is that to lower ball flight?

down and out…did ya get that?

AlexMc - he was using it to practice his putting at the time smile.gif

Maybe their Nikleists.
That lead tape is a classic poor mans tip pin. Glad to see he's a tinkerer.

every little bit counts - you don't become a rich man by winning a few lousy golf tournaments...you have to scrimp!

No one has said anything about his shafts - he's definately not got the Grafalloy prototype in there, looks like he has gone back to the Diamana, wonder whether its the blue or the new white board.

Looks like he also has diamanas in his fairway woods aswell.

irons look different from your pics, the swoosh is more in the centre of the head

Maybe that's just a promo photo where you can clearly see the Swooshes on all of his gear.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

There's a couple of million Chinese that might want to buy Nike bats.

It of course possible that he has a new set of irons since Jason took the photo's
