I'm trying to decide on a Staff bag or a Stand Bag.
Do you ever carry your clubs...if so stand bag...if not staff bag.
down and out…did ya get that? |
why not cart bag? its better too not draw too much attention to yourself by getting a great big staff bag if your just gonna shank the first ball into the lake... easier to push/poll round a course, not as expensive and just as good
sigs are back – YAY |

If you like carrying your bag, a carry bag.
stand. no need for buggy so one less crap thing to load into the boot.
what are your purposes for the bag? why not both...carry bag for casual games, practice etc etc...staff bag for comps where you can carry everything you need
I have both, normally use the staff bag in winter to carry extra gear like wet weather clothing towels etc etc. Carry bag for fine weather golf.
carry bag. Easier on the back
putt,putt,putt,pftt.

I have a stand bag, which I occaisonally carry for 9 holes and
for trips to the the driving range, just about to purchase a cart
bag for the comp rounds. Way too unfit now to carry a stand bag a
full 18 holes. I love them, but reality has set in

i have both. Originally, got the stand bag when we traded in the
family 4WD for something smaller. I have only used the cart
bag once since.
If it's wet, I put the rain cover over the bag and use a
buggy. Most stand bags will sit on a buggy. I am over 40 and not the fittest guy around. I hope to carry until at least 50, but I would never go back to a cart or staff bag.

Stand. Hands down winner. The weight difference is enormous and loss of room only slight. You can strap it to a trolley if you must, but any course that is too hilly to walk with it I would be renting a golf cart anyways. BTW I find it irritates my back more to push a buggy than carry the standbag, the buggies must be at the wrong angle for me.

got a bagboy 3-wheeler - so it has to be a mini-staff bag as the stand bag won't sit on properly... have a stand bag for the other set, jus in case I'm in too much of a rush after work...
hate cart bags - coz the strap is always on the wrong
side...

Try pulling Solarbear. The buggy that is. My bag of choice would be something akin to the one D'Annunzio had to carry for Al Czervik's in Caddyshack, only a little less colourful. Though the drinks machine would be good. A 14" diameter top would eliminate my pet hate (no, not ornamental hedges around tees), when grips get stuck down at the bottom and the club won't fit in. Like a 460cc driver, you would soon get used to it. Weight wouldn't be an issue for me because I wouldn't need an umbrella, wet weather gear or a rainhood. As I may have mentioned before, I don't do rain.

I have both but never ever use the cart bag any more and just invested in a new stand bag. When it rains I throw the stand bag on the cart and while it's not quite as roomy the lighter bag is just so much easier to pull or push that it's not a problem. If you don't mind a slightly heavier stand bag then check out some of the top of the range Ogio's or the Mizuno Twister. They're a little bit bigger than your traditional stand, have heaps of pockets and are designed to sit properly on a cart. That way you'll have the best of both worlds.

OGIO Edge here. Slightly heavier then the Mizuno Aerolite I used to have, but is an awesome awesome bag. Heaps of pockets and features. Bought it when I was in the States.

Anyone know of any good cheap staff bags???
This is a stupid question but what is the difference between a staff and a cart bag?
