TT black gold

just wondering if anyone has any feed back on the new shafts from true temper black gold.

Beanbag,

Not a shaft for the weak man. The most butt strong shaft TT have made (Beside the DG tour). Nice low ball flight and excellent feel. Feels a lot like the Tour Concept shaft but not as harsh on miss hits.

The tollerances are not as tight on them as they promote tho.

I have used the TT shaft fit thing on their web site, and input I want high flight and it suggested the Black Gold! So does it fly high or low and is it suitable for a mid handicap player. I prefer stiff shafts.

That's funny. Couldn't say its suitable or not without seeing the swing.

Just doing some research on these shafts, and came across this comment... Just wondering whether the tolerances are good enough that you can purchase a set 'as is' or do these still need to be frequency matched for optimal results?

Diddy,

The tolerances are good, don't get me wrong, but they aren't the 1.5 CPM that they came out with. No doubt buying a set as is will be fine.

Hi Ben,

Just would like to know which shaft has the best tolerances?

I find the DG Superlights pretty damn good on tolerences...

Generally speaking (on average), how many CPMs difference are there between flexes on an iron shaft?

The same shaft can have different CPM depending how it is aligned so I find it difficult to believe that any set of shafts can meet tolerances of 1.5 CPM.

There is about a 10 CPM differnce in flexes. Most golfers won't feel a half flex difference, so tolerences +-2or3 CPM probably isn't too great of a concern.
