Golf balls for beginners

Hi, Been playing a few months, and been getting group lessons for the last 3 weeks, so I'm finally starting to get some consistency and lower my score a little each week. When buying a golf ball, what should I look for? When looking at the rack in golf stores, the choice is somewhat overwhelming. Extra spin, less spin, soft feel, blah blah blah on a sesame seed bun. I'm just looking to make sure I don't buy a box of something that is going to make my bad shots even worse, due to the qualities of the ball. Thanks, Andrew

I'm a beginner, but after trying numerous balls over the past few months am now using a "tour" ball because I find it most consistent (and stupidly long for someone who has only been playing a few months). I just bought 60 used balls off ebay (10 different kinds, half a dozen of each) and played a few holes with one ball, then the next. If I liked the new one better, it became my chosen ball. Otherwise I played another hole or two with the "chosen one", then compared another. At $1 a ball it wasn't an expensive experiment and I do believe what I've finished up with is a good result. I used advice from people who knew more than me to decide on my test samples, but the winner was really a bit of out of left field.

Anything in the $25-00 for 15 ball pack category. Dunlop, Top Flite, Wilson. From KMArt or your golf shop. This is actually a question you dont need to ask - when you need to know the answer, you allready will! Until you start to notice areas where a standard distance ball is letting you down, then you dont need a better ball.

I'm a beginner myself and the pro I was getting lessons from suggested that I try the Titleist Dt-Solo's. Bought 2 dozen off of ebay for about $30 and I love the soft feel. Apparently they suit a slow swing speed as most? of us beginners have.
I did try a couple of others but always came back to them.

I like Maxfli Noodles... they can usually be had on Ebay for less than a dollar a ball.

Yes i would recomend the dt solo as this ball is suited to slower club head speeds. The biggest mistake i see is people trying to play prov1 or prov1x these balls are designed for club head speeds that excede 100mph so they compress properly thats what they were designed for so unless you can crack it 250 mtr + stay away from them + they cost twice as much as regular balls.

precepts are good ball...D-feel for 75 cents a ball on ebay...

Don't buy balls if you can help it. Your new, just go into the ravines a little ways and pick up a bunch of lost ones. You'll only loose them again. Plus, besides a little effort, the price is right.

Ranger there are 350 different gold brands world wide. and 4 factories that produce them. all you need to know is that tey nust be above $5 (so u dont feel like your hitting metal rocks) and look at the softness of the ball and spin. but depending on how 'beginner' you are, spin may or may not be a factor in your game yet.

anything soft and as long as you keep hitting the same ball. I
have seen to many begginners hit what ever they find and could go
from hitting a rock to a nerf ball and just get frustrated with
the game
