go to a demo day and try a few.

sigs are back – YAY

8081travis, can you be a little more specific on what kind of performance you would expecte from a 3 wood?

Titty 904 by a mile

I love my Titty PT15...its all in the shaft though

For every reply you will get a different answer,
different swings, different shafts, different heads, different length shaft, just too many variables...

904 is a great club, but really all i have tried.

down and out…did ya get that?

I have the new callaway xtour 3 wood and find it so easy to hit of the deck or the tee.It has a Fujikura stiff flex shaft in it , i tried it out in the nets with a flight scope watching me and found it gave me the best launch conditions , carry and spin.I reckon it,s the best way to find out what suits you , i tried the taylormade vsteel and didn,t hit it as good , callaway also have a tour model and even with my stronger swing speed it wasn,t as good as the std model.Horses for coarses i say you have to try a few .

for me its the sonartec np-99, i like it alot

got the adams redline in the bag atm - great off the tee, great off the deck...and it's STOCK retail!!! laugh.gif

best other 3woods I've had -975F 13.5º, V-Steel T/S and Adams Ovation Strong 3...

Adams Tour Spec.

Adams Tour Spec.

Sonartec or Callaway Fairway woods are great. Both for different reasons however.

Callaway Steel Head, TM 200 Steel.. awesome heads, dunno why anyone else produced another design smile.gif

I have a TM 300 series 5 wood but at 17° it's a pretty strong 5.
Best club i've ever owned, 220 -230m off the deck all day.

Nike T60 for me. There is a big chunk of tungsten weighting on the sole to help you hit it. Virge recommended it to me and he's hit most of the 3 woods out there!

I'm currently using a Hogan c455 3 wood and its very good to hit,but without a doubt the best I ve ever hit were the Callaway steelhead 3 woods, the best designed fairway woods ever imo.

Callaway warbird 15 degree circa 1996, with a UST yellow 75 shaft in it cause the Callaway shaft had the ball coming down with ice on it..

Trustworthy, reliable, looks good at address, sounds great.

Why did anyone bother making another fairway wood, I will change only when it breaks or wears out. Best club in my bag.

Had a TM200 Steel with DG S300 shaft which I loved until I hit a mate's R580 with Aldila NV shaft, I went out and bought the identical club, which I love. Just a great club off the deck or tee. I call it my "fairway finder". Also have a look at Cllaway Steelhead 3; it gets rave reviews.

An oldie but goodie! Best one I have hit is an older Cobra Gravity Back 15.5°... fortunately it is the one in my bag, but hard to find now. It has a tungsten weight in the bottom and on the rear and cuts through the grass like a scythe. I've tried the newer Cobras and the Adams, even a Nike, but they just don't have the same feel. Basically, if I can hit it a crippled grandmother with a mental disability can hit it.

My vote would be Sonartec ss-03.

I've recently bought the same club and shaft myself, and it's the easiest to hit, longest and straightest 3 wood I've ever tried.

In the process of updating the #3 bat myself.

Was using a TM 15° V-Steel with a Dynamic Gold Lite R steel shaft with inconsistent results (hence the reassessment).

Currently trialling a Nakashima NX-1 with a UST I-Rod R graphite shaft and getting very good (and consistent) results.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

how much do the callaway x retail for??/

I paid A$200 on special here in Jakarta. I believe that Australian RRP is $329.

There's a 15 deg regular flex X-3 on ebay for $265 "Buy It Now" + $17 postage ... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Call...
