Shortening iron shafts.

Hi all, 1st post (ever, on any forum!). I just acquired a new set of irons, just wondering if it is possible to shorten steel iron shafts ( approx 1/2" to 1"). They are precision microtapers if that is any help, and if so does any body know of a good clubfitter in Brissie, preferably south.

Thanks. smile.gif

The normal way to shorten shafts is to blow the grips off, cut some shaft off the butt end and put the grips back on. Any club fitter worth his/her salt could do it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. smile.gif
One more question, will this change the characteristics of the shafts?

They'll play a wee bit stiffer. Can't remember how much off-hand, though

Try Gary Calder at Archerfield, one of the best in the country,
